Position Summary / Why This Role Matters

BFC Solutions is seeking seasonal Case Cleaners for the Dedicated Division to perform overnight cleaning and preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems at customer locations. This high-travel field role supports system performance, airflow, energy efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. Case Cleaners may be assigned as Lead or Assistant based on business need, customer requirements, team structure, experience, performance, scheduling needs, and management discretion. Current per-night rates are $250 when assigned as Lead and $200 when assigned as Assistant.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will:

  • Clean and perform preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including coils, blower assemblies, drain pans, and related components.
  • Inspect refrigeration units for dirt buildup, leaks, component wear, contamination, and conditions that may require repair or replacement.
  • Remove, clean, and reinstall parts and components using hand tools, specialized cleaning agents, and cleaning equipment.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report system issues observed during service, including leaks, damage, contamination, performance concerns, or safety risks.
  • Read, understand, and follow customer SOPs, site-specific instructions, BFC procedures, and applicable OSHA safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate professionally with facility managers, commercial clients, coworkers, and service teams.
What We Are Looking For

Candidates should be comfortable with overnight travel, physical field work, customer-facing service, and working independently with limited supervision.

Required

  • Experience with preventive maintenance, cleaning, basic mechanical work, facility maintenance, commercial HVAC/refrigeration service, or similar field-based work.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, including drills and screwdrivers, and the ability to perform basic mechanical tasks.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow customer SOPs, service instructions, safety procedures, and site-specific requirements.
  • Willingness to travel up to 90%+ of the time, work overnight, share hotel accommodations with a coworker, and be away from home for seasonal assignments.
  • Willingness to work up to six nights per week during active project periods and stand/work 8+ hours per shift.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record for company vehicle usage.
  • Ability to perform physical work, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, handling tools, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong time management, self-motivation, attention to detail, communication, customer service, and safety awareness.

Preferred

  • Experience cleaning evaporator coils, condenser coils, blower assemblies, drain pans, and related HVAC or refrigeration components.
  • Working knowledge of inspecting refrigeration units for dirt buildup, leaks, component wear, and repair or replacement needs.
  • Experience using specialized cleaning agents and equipment to safely remove debris, mold, and contaminants.
  • Knowledge of EPA refrigerant handling guidelines is a plus but not required.
Success Measures

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Safe, accurate completion of assigned nightly case cleaning work to BFC and customer standards.
  • Reliable attendance and availability for high-travel seasonal overnight assignments.
  • Timely service documentation and clear reporting of issues, findings, and recommendations.
  • Professional customer interactions and consistent adherence to safety, PPE, chemical, tool, equipment, and vehicle requirements.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This is a field-based, overnight travel role performed at commercial customer locations.

  • Work is performed primarily overnight at customer commercial facilities, including grocery, retail, and refrigeration/HVAC environments.
  • Work may involve exposure to cleaning agents, wet or slippery surfaces, mechanical equipment, refrigerated areas, variable temperatures, and customer-specific site requirements.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, typically 8+ hours per shift, and perform physical work including bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, gripping, pushing/pulling, and handling tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds using safe lifting techniques.
  • Team members are generally scheduled home during Memorial Day week, July 4th week, and Labor Day week, subject to business and customer needs.
