Job Title: Part-Time HR Contractor

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 / hour (depending on experience)

Work Schedule: Part-time, approximately 5-8 hours per week (approximately 20 hours per month). Core business hours are 9:00 AM-5:00 PM ET, with a flexible, results-oriented schedule. Candidates will be compensated for a minimum of 5 hours per week.

Addison Group is partnering with our client, a mission-focused nonprofit organization, to identify an experienced HR professional for a part-time contract opportunity. This organization fosters a collaborative, people-first culture and is looking for an independent HR consultant who can provide strategic and administrative human resources support while helping maintain an exceptional employee experience.

Job Description:

The Part-Time HR Contractor will oversee a variety of human resources functions while serving as a trusted HR resource for a small, fully remote organization. This individual will independently manage employee lifecycle activities, maintain HR documentation and policies, support payroll processes, and ensure compliance with organizational standards. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about supporting mission-driven organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee records and maintain accurate HR documentation within the organization's HR systems.
  • Review and approve employee timecards and paid time off requests in accordance with payroll deadlines.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the new hire experience, including system setup, onboarding activities, and employee orientation.
  • Assign and monitor required employee training to support organizational compliance.
  • Review, revise, and maintain employee handbook content and HR policy documentation.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures remain current, accessible, and consistently implemented.
  • Coordinate employee separation activities, including system access updates and required documentation.
  • Prepare year-end HR reporting, maintain compliance records, and assist with annual HR administrative processes.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for HR-related vendors and external service providers.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Experience handling employee relations and HR administration in a professional environment.
  • Previous experience using Paychex or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment documentation, and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Passion for supporting mission-driven organizations and collaborative workplace cultures.
