Position: HR Generalist
Location: Remote, with preference given to candidates in eastern standard time zone
Report To: Director of People Operations
Salary: $40,000-50,000

Our team brings corporate performance that stretches to various areas where we can provide our clinical, healthcare policy, and compliance expertise through our support to health and human service programs at the State, Federal, and Commercial levels.
The Human Resources Generalist supports J29 by administering and coordinating key human resources functions, including employee onboarding, employee relations, HRIS administration, benefits administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle activities. This role partners with employees and leadership to ensure effective delivery of HR services, maintain compliance with employment regulations, and promote a positive employee experience.
The Human Resources Generalist reports directly to the Director of People Operations and serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers across the organization.
Duties:
Employee Onboarding & Offboarding
  • Coordinate all aspects of the new hire onboarding process, including pre-employment documentation, orientation scheduling, and employee setup.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of onboarding paperwork and employee records.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and facilitate a positive onboarding experience.
  • Manage employee offboarding activities, including exit paperwork, system updates, and exit interviews.

Employee Relations
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
  • Support managers in addressing employee performance, attendance, and conduct matters.
  • Assist with employee relations investigations and documentation as needed.
  • Help foster a positive work environment and employee engagement.

HRIS Administration
  • Maintain accurate employee records and data within the HRIS.
  • Process employee status changes, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.
  • Generate reports and assist with HR data tracking and analysis.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Benefits Administration
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
  • Respond to employee benefit inquiries and coordinate with benefit providers as needed.
  • Support open enrollment activities and employee communications.
  • Maintain accurate benefit records and process enrollment changes.

Compliance & Records Management
  • Maintain personnel files and HR documentation in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist with HR audits and reporting requirements.
  • Track and maintain required employment-related documentation and training records.

HR Operations & Administrative Support
  • Support recruiting activities as needed, including interview scheduling and candidate communications.
  • Assist with the implementation and administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Prepare employment verification requests and other HR-related correspondence.
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership and employees to provide responsive and effective HR support.

Experience:
  • 1-3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Professional Human Resources certification required (HRCI or SHRM), such as aPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting a government contract environment.
  • Experience supporting onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HRIS administration, and/or compliance functions.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, and employee relations principles.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint preferred but not required.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
