What this job involves

Responsible for developing, leading, and executing strategies for JLL's Americas Responsible Procurement program through:

Standardizing Responsible Procurement approach across country/region/global:

  • Deliver environmental and social workstreams (e.g. training, supplier engagement) that is consistent across regions

  • Playing an integral role in the JLL Americas' supply chain around measuring and reducing emissions from Purchased Goods and Services in line with JLL's Net Zero 2040 goal

  • Create and execute against Responsible Procurement Standards the drive environmental and social performance and consistency at the category level (e.g. Landscaping, Janitorial, Food)

  • Maintain JLL's Social Program as a commercially recognized platform across the Americas, including ownership of increasing spend with small and emerging businesses and providing accurate data for external reporting purposes

  • Ensure JLL Responsible Procurement in the Americas remains compliant with ESG legislation such as local Modern Slavery Acts, and has an action plan to close any gaps

Upskilling Sourcing and Procurement colleagues and suppliers in support of the Sourcing and Procurement's Global Responsible Procurement Strategy:

  • Continuous knowledge sharing and capability building across the 4 focus areas in the strategy: Net Zero, Responsible Procurement Standards, Social Program and Risk and Human Rights

  • Lead a plan and a team in the region, ensuring deep relationships across S&P and with the supply chain; be expectant and hold people accountable for Responsible Procurement delivery

  • Clear understanding of what JLL clients' needs are around Responsible Procurement and ensuring our S&P business partners are equipped with the right tools and guidance to execute accordingly

  • Conversion of high-level Global Responsible Procurement Strategy into meaningful, tangible impact for JLL and our supply chain's shared clients

Influence Responsible Procurement impact and performance across JLL S&P in the Americas

  • Provide technical knowledge in a supply chain context around carbon accounting and reduction strategies, category-specific strategies to drive environmental and social performance, finding and engaging a broad pool of suppliers, and identification and mitigation of human rights risk

  • Align with the Americas Category Management team and suppliers on JLL Responsible Procurement requirements for suppliers, which serve as JLL's expectation to the supply chain

  • Ensure that key suppliers are clear on these expectations and have the right strategic guidance, impetus and support to deliver against them

  • Drive the integration of Responsible Procurement into the supplier lifecycle - from onboarding through to RFx activity and into continuous monitoring of supplier performance

  • Stay abreast of external best practices related to responsible procurement and communicate these trends internally and externally

Desired Skills And Experience For This Job

  • A proven track record of procurement or other relevant business experience, ideally with suppliers in the Americas region

  • Broad experience around Responsible Procurement topics such as carbon / greenhouse gas emissions, Social Program, Modern Slavery, human rights, etc.

  • Experience around successfully partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a shared outcome in a large, multinational organization

  • Demonstration of leadership experience and/or qualities such as strategic thinking, setting clear expectations and holding people accountable, relationship building, etc.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey a concise, impactful message (primarily) through use of Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Commercial or client-facing experience as a nice to have

Location:

US - Chicago, Boston, New York, Washington DC, Atlanta. Hybrid and/or remote a possibility, so long as the candidate can travel occasionally for business as required throughout the year.

Estimated compensation for this position:

150,000.00 - 160,000.00 USD per year
