Our HR consultancy and outsourcing firm was founded in 2016 as we sought to meet the growing needs of our members and their organizations. Today, we serve thriving small to medium-size organizations across the U.S. (50 states plus Washington, DC), positively impacting thousands of hard-working employees each year. We are actively building our go-to talent bench of available, qualified, and certified HR professionals.

Are you our next Consultant?
  • Reside in the U.S. (any of the 50 states + Wash, DC).
  • Track record of serving as a "thought partner" for clients and leaders in previous roles.
  • Currently serving as a 1099 HR Consultant (preferred, but not required).
  • Not currently serving in a full-time, W-2 role.

Description: The selected HR Consultant will be responsible for managing various aspects of Human Resources, including but not limited to:

  • Provide professional HR services to HR Girlfriends clients, serving as the sole HR professional or by identifying and managing customized projects
  • Perform full-cycle HR services from recruiting, hiring, and onboarding, to projects that include updating employee handbooks, benefits administration, LOA, W/C and claims management, improving performance management, coach/discipline/terminate employees as needed, and any other task required to meet the client’s HR needs
  • Conduct HR Audits
  • Identify legal gaps and non-compliance, and make recommendations for risk mitigation
  • Identify needs for and create new processes, procedures and policies
  • Make recommendations to improve HR infrastructures and implementing tactical plans
  • Design and conduct training and development programs
  • Handle Employee Relations issues: conduct investigations, disciplinary actions, terminations, and attending UI hearings if necessary
  • Coaching & Mentoring
  • Set up, administering, or managing Payroll as needed
  • Regularly and reliably report to and collaboration with the HR Girlfriends team and management, including participation in a remote company meetings

Core Requirements:

  • Preference is given to individuals who own and operate a sole proprietorship HR consultancy.
  • 8+ years of HR Management or Director experience.
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • Active HR certification(s): PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent.
  • Strong proficiency processing Payroll.
  • Experience with the implementation of HCM technology.
  • Demonstrated success identifying legal gap and non-compliance, and making recommendations to improve org-wide policies.
  • Knowledge of HR metrics and ability to benchmark, measure, analyze and articulate the value and ROI of HR initiatives, practices and policies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all MS Office and, or Google Workspace applications, online file-sharing tools such as Dropbox or Google Drive.
  • Experience working as an "HR Department of 1" or as a member of a small HR team in a growing business (a bonus, but not required).
  • Self-directed maintenance on knowledge of current laws, events, industry trends and economic factors that may impact HR Girlfriends and its clients.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with a high preference for a candidate with public speaking (facilitation) experience.
  • Well-organized, self-driven, proactive, and responsive, with a strong ability to task-switch based on priority level.
  • Professional, friendly, and calm under pressure.
  • Willing to take on whatever HR tasks are necessary to meet client needs and exceed expectations.
  • Ability to work independently, but also as a cooperative team player.
  • A fully functioning remote office including:
  • Desktop PC equipped for video conference (webcam, speaker, microphone); reliable internet connection with a minimum bandwidth of 20 Mpbs, printer, scanner, and a smartphone with the ability to read emails.
  • Coaching certification from an accredited certifying body , i.e., ICF (a bonus, but not required).
  • Labor Union experience (a bonus but not required).
  • Government contracting exposure/experience (a bonus, but not required).
  • Knowledge of Bureau of Cannabis Control regulations for businesses in the Cannabis field (a bonus, but not required).

Status: Part-Time/Hourly

Compensation: $40 - $60 per hour (based on experience, assigned client mix, and other relevant factors)

Physical Demands: This position is largely sedentary in nature, however one must possess the ability to speak, hear, see, stand, walk, sit, reach with hands/arms, and write as well as the ability to use a computer and related software programs, and lift up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel: While this is a remote position, must be able and willing to drive to client sites within 1-hour of your residence (reliable transportation). Local and/or national travel may be periodically required and may require some longer weekday/weekend commitments to accomplish related business projects or meet deliverables. When travel is required advance notice will be provided when possible.
