About This Role

We are seeking a People Generalist who will be responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support across a wide range of human resources functions including: employment law, compliance, employee onboarding, offboarding, change management, immigration processing, leave of absence management, employee development, and employee engagement activity management. The People Team focuses on all aspects of the employee experience. This role will be wearing multiple hats, managing processes, programs, and systems. This individual will collaborate with department leaders, the Finance Team, and all OmniAb employees. The ideal candidate is communicative and collaborative and has experience in benefits, HR policies, compliance, and immigration, as well as a good understanding of State and Federal regulations impacting HR administration.

This role reports to the SVP, People and Talent.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Emeryville headquarters that will also have responsibilities for employees in our Durham, NC and Oro Valley, AZ offices. This role will require up to 5% domestic travel. This is a full-time position, and the office hours are within 8am-5pm PT.

What You’ll Do

  • Handle all administrative tasks for preboarding, onboarding, ongoing employee changes, and offboarding, including entering data into HRIS and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
  • Update and help drive OmniAb’s New Hire Orientation Program to ensure a comprehensive and engaging experience, including introductory presentations, reference materials, and Intranet content.
  • Facilitate and track employee change management processes.
  • Create employee relationships and support employee development initiatives.
  • Support the full employee issue resolution process, providing guidance on routine employee relations matters and managing documentation, filing, tracking, pre and post exit compliance processes.
  • Ensure Federal and State legal requirements are met and reflected in Company policies and programs.
  • Manage immigration cases in partnership with outside counsel and internal stakeholders, including case monitoring and employee communication.
  • Track and administer leave. Act as the main contact for employees taking medical and/or family leaves and coordinate with third party employee LOA resource.
  • Manage workers' compensation claim reporting and return to work program.
  • Manage relationships with HR systems vendors.
  • Support new hire orientation to build a strong foundation for new employees and increase employee engagement.
  • Assist in developing and executing employee procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations.
  • Facilitate company-wide communications and compliance with HR policies.
  • Lead the OmniAb Social Committee and help drive employee activities, and events promoting employee engagement.
  • Support employer branding, including company awards applications, external community events, and other initiatives as needed.
  • Support the other OmniAb Employee Committees.
  • Support the employee engagement survey lifecycle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • BA/BS in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources at a growing company, preferably in the Life Sciences industry.
  • Experience with HR policies, compliance, benefits, and immigration.
  • Understanding of State and Federal regulations impacting HR administration.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office, as well as standard HRIS.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to ensure organizational fairness and consistency with values and culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
  • Self-starter who works with minimal supervision and integrity while also being a strong team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience supporting employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extraordinary organizational skills, with high attention to detail and focus on accuracy and accountability.

The base compensation range for this position is $107,000 - $119,000 per year. The range provided is an estimate. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
