Job description

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for delivering practical, people-centered HR support aligned with business needs. Serving as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, this role supports employee relations, performance management, and HR policy guidance while ensuring consistency, fairness, and mitigating risk. This role works closely with the managers in the groups they support to promote a positive, high-performance, service-driven culture. This position reports to the Manager, Human Resources Business Partner.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to employees at every step of their IEL journey; providing care, guidance and coaching while effectively mitigating business risk

  • Address and resolve complex employee relations matters, including conducting thorough, objective, and well-documented investigations

  • Build a performance-based culture by engaging with managers and employees; coach managers on nurturing high performance and addressing under-performance on their teams

  • Provide guidance to employees and managers within their client groups, as well as HR team members on a wide variety of HR processes, programs, policies, and tools

  • Support leaders in navigating sensitive employee relations matters, including performance management, terminations, and other employment related issues

  • Appropriately escalate or transition matters to the correct partners, ensuring a seamless handoff and exceptional customer experience

  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to solutions that enhance efficiency and consistency

  • Ensure the seamless delivery of our employee experience, driving service excellence with a focus on efficiency and consistency in the experience we deliver

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders to improve the employee experience, share information and influence change

  • Share best practices and collaborate with peers to develop solutions to complex or challenging situations

  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies

  • Partner with members of the HR team on specific projects on an as needed basis

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3-5 years of Employee Relations Experience

  • Ability to communicate ideas and data in a persuasive and appropriate manner

  • Strong coaching, conflict resolution and ability to have difficult conversations

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Collaborative, innovative and customer-focused

  • Must possess the ability to thrive in a team-based environment and work effectively with employees of all levels

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to travel as needed; a few times each year on average

Preferred:

  • SHRM-CP or PHR

  • Experience working with Workday HCM

  • Workday Pro

  • Experience supporting a remote client group
