Job description

Join the largest delivery-first restaurant group in the United States!
Who we are:
At Salted, we're leading the charge to build the next generation of the restaurant industry. We focus on making better-for-you cuisine accessible while offering clean-label, plant-driven, and most importantly - delicious food. Join us in shaping the future of the restaurant industry and be part of our innovative culinary journey!
The Role:
This is a senior leadership role owning accounting, financial reporting, and compliance across a fast-growing, multi-state business. You'll fully own the accuracy and integrity of Salted's financial statements, partnering with the team to run day-to-day accounting while you lead reporting, validation, and analysis. You'll also oversee multi-state payroll, making sure our people are paid accurately and on time and that our wage, tax, and withholding practices stay compliant as we expand into new states.
You'll also serve as the company's compliance leader, staying ahead of regulatory obligations across every jurisdiction we operate in. This role suits someone who pairs technical accounting depth with strong operational judgment and the ability to build scalable systems as we grow. You'll be successful here if you bring precision, ownership, and a solution-focused approach to both the numbers and the people who rely on them.
Your Impact:
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, and fully own the reporting, validation, and analysis of Salted's financial statements
  • Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and lead variance analysis, providing insight to leadership on business performance
  • Partner with our staff accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, ASC 842, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Lead multi-state payroll, ensuring accurate wage calculations, tax withholdings, and compliance across 8+ states (CA, TX, FL, GA, CO, IL, NJ, VA, and more)
  • Oversee HRIS operations, including employee data integrity, onboarding and offboarding workflows, and org structure changes across integrated systems
  • Own the company's compliance function, ensuring nothing lapses across business licenses, health permits, food handler certifications, sales tax registrations, and other recurring regulatory obligations at every kitchen location
  • Manage payroll tax filings and registrations as we expand into new states
  • Oversee benefits enrollment, deductions, and reporting in partnership with HR
  • Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements, scaling our accounting and compliance systems as we grow
  • Serve as a trusted resource for leadership, managers, and employees on accounting, payroll, and compliance matters
Skills & Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting, with progressive responsibility and time spent owning financial statements and close
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting, with hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle
  • Experience with multi-state payroll and regulatory compliance
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, with comfort building models and working with large datasets
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, since accounting errors, missed filings, and lapsed permits have real consequences
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
  • Strong communicator who can explain accounting and compliance topics clearly to non-technical partners
  • Demonstrated leadership and ownership, with the ability to build and improve how work gets done
  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

Salary: $140,000 - $175,000
Benefits:
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance
  • 401k with up to a 4% employer match after one year
