You will primarily engage with clients through telehealth platforms, ensuring that you can provide immediate access to mental health support. Our workweek runs Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, giving you the stability of a structured schedule while still offering the advantages of remote work.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their unique psychological and emotional needs.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions designed to address common challenges associated with aging, including grief, depression, and anxiety.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to create personalized care plans that meet each resident's specific mental health objectives.
• Educate families and caregivers about mental health strategies to support elderly individuals, helping to foster an environment that promotes resilience and overall well-being.
• Deliver grief and loss counseling for clients and their families, guiding them through the emotional processes associated with end-of-life issues.
• Implement cognitive stimulation activities and mental health interventions aimed at enhancing cognitive functioning and emotional stability in seniors.

This role is centered around geriatric clients, primarily focusing on seniors experiencing the challenges that accompany aging such as isolation, bereavement, and significant life transitions. Our clients often require specialized support that is culturally sensitive and tailored to their individual experiences. Understanding the diverse backgrounds and life experiences of our clients is crucial in providing meaningful care and fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation.
• At least 4 years of recent experience providing mental health support to the geriatric population.
• Proven expertise in managing aging-related issues and a strong understanding of geriatric mental health.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with elderly clients and their families.
• Competence in employing evidence-based interventions to improve mental well-being.

• Previous experience in a geriatric counseling setting, particularly focusing on clients with mental health disorders.
• Additional training or certifications in geriatric mental health and therapeutic modalities.
• A strong ability to perform thorough assessments and adapt treatment approaches to fit the individual needs of clients.
• Deep knowledge of legal and ethical standards related to geriatric mental health counseling.

This position offers an annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
