The Community Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, establishing rapport with clients and documenting their journey from initial consultation to treatment conclusion.
  • Create and implement tailored treatment plans for diverse client needs, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring that each intervention aligns with their specific goals and circumstances.
  • Facilitate individual therapy sessions and group sessions, using a variety of therapeutic modalities and maintaining a therapeutic alliance while addressing different mental health conditions.
  • Continuously monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes and address any barriers to recovery.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to form comprehensive intervention strategies for mutual clients.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups with hospitalized clients and their medical teams to facilitate smooth transitions back to outpatient care.
  • Provide support and guidance to families and primary caregivers, equipping them with strategies to assist their loved ones in managing mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a varied population comprising individuals facing mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Our diverse client base reflects the community's needs, emphasizing the importance of cultural competence and empathy in your therapeutic approach.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in Tennessee.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a solid foundation in therapeutic practices.
Preferred Experience
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically AVATAR, to maintain accurate client records and document services rendered.
  • Experience in treating clients with co-occurring physical health conditions and mental health issues, alongside addiction disorders.
  • Awareness of best practices and guidelines established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • In-depth understanding of pharmaceuticals commonly prescribed in mental health treatment, enhancing the ability to address clients' medication-related queries.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, complemented by exceptional interpersonal abilities.
