Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and interviews with patients to determine their mental health status and needs.
• Create personalized treatment plans that include therapeutic interventions tailored to individual goals.
• Offer ongoing therapy sessions to patients, employing a range of evidence-based techniques to help them achieve their mental health objectives.
• Regularly evaluate patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary to reflect changes and improvements.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions, promoting a supportive environment where clients can share experiences and learn from one another.
• Provide referrals to other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists or specialists, when necessary to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
• Document patient interactions and treatment progress accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with ethical guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will serve a diverse clientele, including individuals struggling with substance abuse issues, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. Your expertise will be critical in addressing their unique challenges and guiding them towards improved mental health and well-being. We place a strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity and responsiveness, ensuring each client feels understood and respected in their healing journey.

Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in New York State.
• At least two years of clinical experience working with diverse patient populations in mental health settings.
• A solid understanding of various mental health disorders and proficiency with evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport quickly and effectively with clients from varied backgrounds.
• Proficiency in EHR systems and the capability to effectively utilize standard office software.
• A commitment to ethical practice, including maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally responsive individual and group therapy.
• Experience in crisis intervention and the ability to handle challenging situations with composure.
• Previous engagement in professional development and continuing education related to mental health counseling.

Compensation and Benefits
