Effective communication, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of healthcare systems are essential in this position.

What does a remote healthcare project manager do?

Remote healthcare project managers oversee one or more projects at a hospital or other kind of healthcare facility. Plans may include adding a wing to a facility, finding new suppliers for necessary materials, and improving emergency response rates by employees. In this role, you establish the project's timeline and budget, select vendors and coordinate their schedules, delegate tasks, and ensure the staff completes their assignments efficiently. When a problem arises, you need to address and resolve it as soon as possible. Because this is a remote position, you need to communicate with staff and administrators regularly using telephones, email, and virtual conferencing systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote healthcare project manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Healthcare Project Manager, you need expertise in project management methodologies, healthcare regulations, and experience with multi-disciplinary teams, often supported by a relevant degree and certifications like PMP or CAPM. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills help foster team collaboration and adapt to remote work challenges. These skills are crucial for ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and with a positive impact on patient care in a remote environment.

How does a remote healthcare project manager effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams across different locations?

As a Remote Healthcare Project Manager, effective coordination relies heavily on strong communication and organizational skills. Account Executive-Healthcare

AAPC

Job description

The Opportunity

AAPC is expanding its Enterprise Healthcare Sales team and is seeking a strategic, resourceful Software Account Executive who is built to hunt. This is a pure new-business role focused primarily on creating and closing enterprise opportunities for AAPC's Codify and Practicode solutions across health systems, payers, physician organizations, revenue cycle companies, and healthcare technology firms.
This is not an inbound-dependent role and it is not account management. The right person is energized by the challenge of breaking into complex organizations, finding a path when the obvious one is blocked, and staying persistent through long sales cycles, competing priorities, and initial rejection. You will be expected to create demand, develop executive-level business cases, and turn market signals into qualified pipeline.

What You Will Own

  • Create net-new pipeline: Build a consistent pipeline through strategic outbound prospecting, account research, referrals, partnerships, market signals, events, and creative multichannel outreach.
  • Run the full enterprise sales cycle: Own discovery, solution alignment, demonstrations, business cases, stakeholder mapping, procurement, legal, negotiation, and close.
  • Sell AAPC software solutions: Lead with Codify and Practicode as the primary portfolio. Diagnose customer needs, connect each solution to measurable workflow and business outcomes, and expand into other AAPC software, data, API, education, or enterprise solutions when they strengthen the customer strategy and create additional value.
  • Break into complex accounts: Navigate health systems and healthcare companies with multiple decision-makers across Revenue Cycle, HIM, Coding, Compliance, IT, Product, Finance, and executive leadership.
  • Lead with insight: Use industry changes, organizational priorities, technology initiatives, and operational pain points to create relevant reasons for prospects to engage.
  • Build strategic account plans: Identify target accounts, buying committees, white-space opportunities, competitive displacement paths, and clear next actions for priority prospects.
  • Maintain disciplined execution: Keep Salesforce, forecasting, opportunity strategy, and pipeline activity accurate and current. Move deals forward with urgency and clear mutual action plans.
  • Bring the market back to AAPC: Share customer insights, competitive intelligence, product feedback, and emerging needs with Product, Marketing, Sales Leadership, and other cross-functional partners.

What Success Looks Like

  • Pipeline creation: You consistently generate qualified, self-sourced enterprise opportunities rather than waiting for leads to appear.
  • Strategic deal progression: You build access to the right stakeholders, uncover business impact, and create momentum across complex buying groups.
  • Resilient execution: You stay focused and inventive when outreach is ignored, deals stall, or the first approach does not work.
  • Revenue performance: You meet or exceed new-business goals while building a healthy, predictable pipeline for future quarters.
  • Trusted expertise: Prospects see you as a credible business partner who understands healthcare workflows, technology, coding, workforce performance, and revenue cycle challenges.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of successful B2B sales experience, with a strong preference for enterprise healthcare software, SaaS, health technology, RCM, HIM, coding, workforce technology, data, or API experience.
  • A demonstrated record of creating your own pipeline and exceeding quota in a true new-business role.
  • Experience selling into complex organizations with long sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, and executive-level decision-makers.
  • Strong discovery and business acumen, including the ability to connect operational pain, financial impact, technology requirements, and strategic priorities.
  • The ability to communicate software functionality, technical concepts, implementation considerations, and business value clearly to both business and technical audiences.
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, persistence, and sound judgment. You know when to change the message, the contact, the channel, or the strategy without giving up on the account.
  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting discipline, CRM hygiene, and ownership of next steps.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment while collaborating closely with internal experts and leadership.

You Will Thrive Here If You

  • Enjoy the work of hunting, not just the reward of closing.
  • See rejection and stalled deals as problems to solve, not reasons to disengage.
  • Are curious enough to research deeply, creative enough to find an opening, and disciplined enough to follow through.
  • Can challenge a buyer's current approach while remaining credible, consultative, and respectful.
  • Prefer ownership, accountability, and strategic freedom over a highly scripted sales process.
  • Want to help shape how AAPC brings modern healthcare software solutions to the enterprise market while identifying opportunities to connect customers with the broader AAPC portfolio.

Why AAPC

AAPC is more than a coding certification provider. We are a trusted healthcare organization with deep expertise in coding, compliance, revenue cycle, workforce development, education, software, and data.
