The Healthcare Advisory Manager will lead and support client-facing advisory engagements for healthcare organizations, with a strong focus on governmental compliance and revenue cycle audits and assessments, interim leadership and operational support, and healthcare compliance initiatives including response to payor investigations and appeal assistance. This role serves as a trusted advisor to healthcare clients across the care continuum, helping them evaluate risk, improve financial and operational performance, strengthen compliance, and implement sustainable process improvements.
What you will do...
• Lead and deliver client engagements focused on billing, coding and medical necessity and revenue cycle audits, operational assessments, and performance improvement initiatives, including front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end revenue cycle functions.
• Conduct and support healthcare compliance assessments, including policy and procedure reviews, risk assessments, internal controls evaluations, and regulatory preparedness (e.g., billing compliance, documentation, coding, and payer requirements).
• Serve as a key client-facing resource on interim leadership assignments, providing hands-on management support for healthcare organizations experiencing leadership gaps, operational challenges, or periods of transition.
• Independently and collaboratively execute client projects involving observations, interviews, document review, data analysis, and process mapping to identify root causes, risks, and improvement opportunities related to clinical, operational, financial, and compliance outcomes.
• Partner with healthcare executives and operational leaders to assess, validate, and benchmark current performance against industry leading practices, regulatory expectations, and peer organizations.
• Translate complex operational, financial, and compliance findings into clear, actionable recommendations for clients, supported by data-driven insights and practical implementation guidance.
• Independently develop high-quality client deliverables, including assessment reports, executive summaries, dashboards, work plans, status updates, and risk/issue logs, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Collaborate closely with internal project teams and leadership, escalating issues as appropriate and contributing to overall engagement strategy, scope management, and professional standards.
• Support business development activities, including proposal development, scope definition, and client presentations, by leveraging deep healthcare industry knowledge and strong client relationships.
• Demonstrate strong professional judgment, critical thinking, and intellectual curiosity when evaluating client issues, identifying risks, and framing solution pathways across diverse healthcare settings.
What you bring...
• Minimum of seven years of experience in healthcare consulting or healthcare operations with a strong emphasis on governmental compliance, revenue cycle management, audits and assessments, interim leadership support,; ability to apply industry leading practices to client-specific challenges.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; preferred concentrations include Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Professional Healthcare Coding credentials such as CPC, CHC, RHIT, RHIA.
• Progressive experience working directly with healthcare clients, including leading meetings, managing workstreams, drafting client deliverables, and coordinating project activities across clinical, revenue cycle, financial, operational, and compliance domains.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting large healthcare data sets (e.g., claims, billing, operational metrics) using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms.
• Strong client presence with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, capable of communicating effectively with executive leadership, operational management, and frontline stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and Project, with the ability to produce polished, client-ready materials.
• Fundamental familiarity with AI solutions such as CoPilot and Claude.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance concepts, including billing, medical necessity and coding risk, documentation standards, internal controls, and regulatory readiness, is a must.
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to client sites to support advisory engagements.
*Consideration will be given to candidates in the Atlanta area who are comfortable working in a hybrid model.
