Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, utilizing standardized tools and frameworks to identify treatment needs and develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's unique circumstances.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to individuals, couples, and families, focusing on practical strategies to promote mental well-being.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational sessions and support groups, cultivating a sense of community among clients to explore shared experiences and foster peer support.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to coordinate care, ensuring that each client receives holistic support that addresses their medical, psychological, and social needs.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, employing sound judgment and de-escalation techniques during mental health emergencies, while offering immediate support and resources.
  • Educate clients about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to empower their recovery journey.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with both legal requirements and ethical standards, ensuring that therapy notes and treatment plans are up to date.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development to stay current with industry best practices and advancements.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse population experiencing various mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. Our clients come from all walks of life, and you will have the opportunity to apply a range of therapeutic modalities to meet their individual needs.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution or university.
  • Active and valid licensure in Virginia as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mental health disorders and evidenced-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills, with a demonstrated ability to provide individualized care that aligns with clients' needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, coupled with a strong commitment to ethical practice and professional boundaries.
  • Experienced in using electronic health record systems and remote healthcare technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience providing individual and group therapy in a clinical or outpatient setting.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and e-therapy methodologies.
