  • Conduct initial consultations and comprehensive evaluations of clients, gathering pertinent mental, behavioral, and emotional health information.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring each plan aligns with best practices in psychotherapy.
  • Lead engaging individual and group therapy sessions to facilitate meaningful dialogue and healing, utilizing evidence-based methodologies.
  • Track and document client progress consistently throughout the treatment process, adapting strategies as necessary to better serve client needs.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of mental health specialists, including social workers, psychiatrists, and medical professionals, to refine intervention plans.
  • Provide comprehensive follow-ups for clients referred for hospital admission, ensuring continuity of care and integrated support.
  • Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges, enhancing their ability to provide support.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The individuals you will support span a variety of backgrounds and life experiences, including those with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma histories, and substance use disorders. Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a mental health counselor in both individual and group settings.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to maintain accurate client records and track treatment progress.
  • Familiarity with the best practices as established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in treating underlying physical health conditions and managing co-occurring addiction disorders.
  • In-depth knowledge regarding psychotropic medications prescribed by specialists and their potential effects on mental health treatment.
