As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individual counseling sessions with clients via secure video conferencing tools.
• Encouraging clients to express their emotions and experiences, helping them gain insights into their mental health.
• Collaboratively setting and reviewing client goals, acting as a supportive advocate in their therapeutic journey.
• Assessing clients’ mental conditions and developing personalized treatment plans using a solution-focused methodology that leverages your clinical skills.
• Providing ongoing support and adjustment to treatment approaches based on client feedback and progress.

Your work will primarily involve clients who are prescreened and assessed to be stable, thus representing lower acuity cases. This enables you to focus on therapeutic interventions rather than crisis management, allowing for a more in-depth exploration of personal development and mental health improvement.

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
• Possession of an independent state-issued license such as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Note that provisional or limited licenses are not accepted.
• Demonstrated ability to make thorough evaluations and informed recommendations for treatment plans.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, fostering empathetic communication and rapport-building with clients.
• Proficiency in technology to navigate telehealth platforms and documentation systems effectively.

While not required, preferred experience includes:

• At least two years of experience in individual counseling with a diverse population.
• Knowledge of various therapeutic techniques and approaches, particularly in remote settings.
• Experience in working with clients facing common mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, or relationship issues.
