The Life Sciences North America Labor and Employee Relations Specialist ("LS NA LER Spec") is responsible for providing labor and employee relations services to the Life Sciences platform's North American operating companies (OpCos). These services include Employee Relations investigations; involuntary employee separations, reductions-in-force/ restructuring actions and performance management (including disciplinary action and performance improvement plans). The LS NA LER Spec partners with people leaders, the enterprise North America Labor & Employment Center of Excellence (LER COE), and the broader HR function. The role manages a highvolume of assigned LER cases and performances ad hoc consultations with people leaders specific to one or more designated OpCos as well as across the Life Sciences platform in North America. The role acts as the primary liaison between the designated LS OpCos in North America and the enterprise LER COE.

This position reports to the Manager, Labor and Employee Relations and is a and is part of the Employee Relations team and will be fully USA Remote role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Serve as the primary advisor for employee relations matters across North America, including performance management, disciplinary actions, leaves, grievances, investigations, and separations.

  • Conduct and manage workplace investigations, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

  • Partner with managers, HR, and the North America Labor & Employee Relations COE to ensure consistent and compliant application of policies, procedures, and employment laws.

  • Coach and develop people leaders to effectively address employee relations issues and improve leadership capability.

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of employee relations policies, procedures, toolkits, and standard work.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, HR Business Partnering, Employment Law, or a related HR discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience handling a broad range of employee relations matters, including high-volume and complex case management.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. labor and employment laws and employee relations best practices.

  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, influence stakeholders, and resolve issues effectively in a matrixed environment.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and coaching skills

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting employee and labor relations matters in Canada and/or Puerto Rico.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing, laboratory, or other operational environments.

  • Experience working in unionized workplaces.

The annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
