This position operates entirely through telehealth platforms, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while connecting with clients across Burke, Virginia, and beyond. The schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility to meet patient needs. Our technological setup includes user-friendly electronic health record (EHR) systems designed to streamline documentation and communication with a multidisciplinary team.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that respect and understand the cultural backgrounds and unique experiences of patients.
• Implement evidence-based interventions tailored individually, focusing on cultural competence and the specific needs of each patient.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing various mental health issues while fostering resilience.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Provide crisis intervention and support, employing effective strategies to manage immediate mental health emergencies.
• Educate patients and families about mental health topics, treatment options, and community support resources available to them.
• Maintain detailed and confidential client records, adhering to ethical and legal standards throughout your documentation processes.
• Participate actively in case conferences and team meetings, contributing to collaborative care strategies and sharing insights from cultural competency training.
• Stay current with the latest research and best practices related to mental health therapy and cultural considerations.

You will work with a varied patient demographic that includes individuals from all walks of life, particularly those belonging to historically underrepresented groups. • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist in the state of Virginia.
• A strong understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methodologies, and cultural competence.
• Experience in delivering individual and group therapy, with a focus on culturally responsive approaches.
• Proven crisis intervention skills with the capacity to manage high-stress situations effectively.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to establish rapport and trust with a diverse patient base.
• Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in using relevant computer applications.
• Commitment to maintaining ethical boundaries, professional standards, and strict confidentiality protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• At least two years of relevant experience in a mental health counseling role.
• Prior work with multicultural populations in a clinical setting, demonstrating a deep understanding of specific cultural practices and beliefs.
• Active participation in ongoing education or training pertaining to cultural competency and mental health treatment best practices.
