Role: Data Modeler
Location: Woodland Hills CA/Remote
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Snowflake, DBT, Erwin
Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Modeler with proven experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will design scalable and high-performance data models, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical requirements, especially within platforms like Guidewire and Snowflake.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop logical and physical data models to support P&C insurance business processes incrementally.
• Work with Business Analysts to define and document data mapping rules from source systems such as Guidewire and legacy systems.
• Optimize physical data models for performance and scalability on the Snowflake platform.
• Ensure the models meet business requirements, technical standards, and data governance guidelines.
Other Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with developers to ensure data integration processes align with the data models.
• Maintain version-controlled documentation for models, mappings, and transformations.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting related to model implementation and evolution.
• Participate in data quality reviews, model validation, and performance tuning efforts.
• Support cross-functional teams with data model training and interpretation.
Required Experience and Skills:
• Proven experience working on data models in the P&C Insurance domain.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin).
• Strong understanding of relational and dimensional modeling concepts.
• Proficient in SQL and data validation techniques.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
• Experience with Snowflake platform and Guidewire and Legacy (Mainframe) systems.
• Familiarity with ETL processes, metadata management, and data governance practices.
