IPS manufactures its products locally and has been delivering world-class solutions to the telecommunications and parking industries for 25 years. The company is best known for their patented credit card enabled, solar powered single-space parking meter and web-based management system.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Proposal & Technical Writing Manager to lead our bid writing efforts and assist with technical copywriting. This individual will be responsible for owning and managing the entire bid and proposal process, while also working to enhance automation and efficiency through AI tools.

You'll be the primary architect of our proposals, bringing both writing skills and strategic insight to the table, and you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, and edit compelling RFP/RFI responses and proposals in coordination with internal teams.
  • Own the end-to-end proposal process, including deadline management, formatting, editing, and compliance.
  • Implement and leverage AI tools (such as generative AI platforms and automation software) to streamline content development, track common responses, and build scalable templates.
  • Maintain and update a centralized content library for proposal content, case studies, and technical documentation.
  • Analyze past proposals to identify areas for improvement in messaging, efficiency, and win rate.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to translate technical content into clear, persuasive language.
  • Establish scalable workflows and best practices for proposal automation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in proposal writing, technical writing, or grant writing-ideally in the technology, transportation, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of government or enterprise RFP processes.
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude AI) to assist in content generation or document automation.
  • Exceptional written communication and editing skills.
  • Self-starter comfortable managing solo projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience with proposal software tools (e.g., Loopio, Responsive.io) is a plus.
