We are seeking an Associate Director of Government Accounting to join the Collins Aerospace team. This role is part of the Government Accounting and Controls team and is positioned within the Collins Aerospace Controllers office. This position leads a team of finance professionals responsible for the strategy and execution of compliant cost accounting practices and government rates in accordance with U.S. Government regulations. 

Collins Government Accounting serves the corporation by performing government cost accounting and compliance activities that facilitate business with the U.S. Government. This includes regular interface with a broad finance network across the company as well as direct interaction with government oversight agency representatives. The team works in a dynamic environment and partners with business unit colleagues to support company strategies, maximize cost recovery, and demonstrate a commitment to compliance.

The successful Government Accounting Associate Director possesses excellent financial analysis and cost accounting experience and knowledge. Along with technical expertise, the successful candidate is a self-starter who displays strong leadership, critical thinking, business acumen, and effective communication. Additionally, this leader demonstrates an understanding of relevant Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) cost principles.

What You Will Do:

Lead and develop a team to:

  • Maintain compliant cost accounting practices for home offices and various Mission Systems and Avionics business units, including CASB Disclosure Statements and the coordination, review, and disclosure of changes with supporting cost impact analyses
  • Prepare, submit, and support Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRP) and negotiate Agreements (FPRA)
  • Prepare rate-related analyses and disclosures to support TINA compliance
  • Prepare, submit, and support incurred cost claims including settlement of final rates
  • Ensure appropriate cost recovery while maintaining compliance with company policies, Cost Accounting Standards, and Federal Acquisition Regulation
  • Maintain government accounting framework, including translating from performance accounting to government cost accounting
  • Interface with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) as required on topics related to forward pricing rates, billing rates, incurred cost proposals, and related audits
  • Support government accounting aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, internal reorganizations, and other company initiatives

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)/Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Experience working in a government business environment in a financial role that includes familiarity with relevant Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) cost principles
  • Knowledge of DCAA/DCMA charters and procedures
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to effectively summarize analyses and communicate at various management levels
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing people

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
