What is a remote global workforce?

A remote global workforce refers to a team of employees who work from different locations around the world, rather than from a central office. These employees connect virtually, using technology and online collaboration tools to communicate and complete their tasks. This approach allows companies to tap into a broader talent pool, offer greater flexibility, and often operate more efficiently across time zones. Managing a remote global workforce requires clear communication, strong digital infrastructure, and effective leadership to ensure productivity and cohesion.

What are common challenges faced by professionals working in a remote global workforce, and how can they be managed?

Professionals in a remote global workforce often encounter challenges such as coordinating across multiple time zones, ensuring effective communication despite cultural and language differences, and maintaining work-life balance. These can be managed by setting clear expectations around availability, utilizing collaboration tools that support asynchronous work, and fostering an inclusive team culture through regular virtual check-ins. Proactively addressing these challenges helps remote teams stay connected and productive while leveraging the diverse perspectives of a global workforce.

Job description

THE ORGANIZATION

Entrepreneurs’ Organization (“EO”) is a global nonprofit membership organization and peer network for entrepreneurs, connecting approximately 20,000 members through more than 220 chapters worldwide. EO’s purpose is to move the world forward by unlocking the full potential of entrepreneurs. Since 1987, EO has helped entrepreneurs achieve transformational growth through life-enhancing connections, shared experiences, and collaborative learning. Guided by EO’s core values, trust and respect, thirst for learning, think big, be bold, and together we grow, EO’s international staff works across diverse cultures in support of EO’s global community. As an EO employee, you will work in a global entrepreneurial community and have opportunities for learning, collaboration, and professional growth. EO offers a competitive total rewards package, including benefits and professional development support, and a flexible work environment, subject to role, location, and applicable plan terms.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Global HRBP serves as an executive-level strategic advisor and leadership partner to EO’s senior leaders and functional teams, aligning People & Culture strategy with EO’s mission to move the world forward by unlocking the full potential of entrepreneurs.

Supporting a fully remote, globally distributed membership organization, this role balances high-level talent strategy with advanced Employee Relations (ER) case management and organizational risk mitigation. The HRBP serves as the primary escalation point for complex staff matters, leads high-stakes internal investigations, and manages the Senior HR Generalist to ensure smooth departmental operations.

Crucially, this role will act as an operational architect—partnering across legal and finance functions to transition our international workforce away from Employer of Record (EOR) models and stand up fully compliant, localized legal entities as we streamline and scale our global footprint.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Advanced Employee Relations, Investigations & Compliance

  • Complex ER Management: Serves as the primary expert and trusted advisor on complex, sensitive employee relations matters across multi-jurisdictional labor environments; manages cases from intake to resolution with sound judgment and total discretion.
  • Internal Investigations: Leads and conducts thorough, impartial, and legally compliant internal investigations into allegations of policy violations, harassment, discrimination, or workplace misconduct; drafts comprehensive investigation reports and recommends corrective actions.
  • Risk Mitigation & Performance Management: Guides and supports global managers through high-stakes performance interventions, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), critical documentation, and involuntary terminations while navigating regional statutory notice periods and severance requirements.
  • Global Labor Law Alignment: Maintains high-level oversight of international labor standards across 10+ countries, serving as the senior point of escalation for complex statutory compliance, cross-border remote work risks, and local contract disputes.

Global Footprint, Entity Transition & EOR Oversight

  • International Entity Setup: Partner directly with external international legal counsel, global legal advisors, and internal Finance teams to direct the legal, compliance, and structural setup of new corporate legal entities.
  • Workforce Transfer Architecture: Design and execute legally compliant workforce transition frameworks (including local transfer-of-undertakings/TUPE equivalents) to seamlessly migrate personnel off EOR platforms and onto internal payroll without business disruption.
  • EOR Partner Oversight: Maintain strategic oversight of external EOR/PEO partners (e.g., Deel), serving as the ultimate escalation point for complex compliance risks while systematically sunsetting contracts as entities are established.

Strategic Partnership & Organizational Effectiveness

  • EOS-Aligned Strategy: Partner with senior leaders to translate strategic priorities into actionable, EOS-aligned people plans that drive team health, organizational performance, and clear accountability.
  • Org Design & Restructuring: Advise executive leadership on organizational design, global workforce modeling, change management, and restructuring initiatives across a distributed network.
  • People Leadership: Supervises, mentors, and directs the daily work of the Senior HR Generalist, ensuring the administrative engine, HRIS database (ADP Workforce Now), and tactical workflows run seamlessly.

Talent Management & Leadership Enablement

  • Global Cycle Stewardship: Oversee and continuously refine EO’s core talent processes, including semi-annual promotion cycles and annual performance reviews, driving equity and consistency across all global regions.
  • Executive Coaching: Coach and enable global directors and supervisors on goal setting, cross-cultural feedback, leadership effectiveness, and proactive team development.
  • Compensation Governance: Partner with Total Rewards to ensure global compensation decisions, job leveling, and salary benchmarking align strictly with EO’s total rewards philosophy, budget constraints, and commitments to internal equity.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Required

  • Professional Background: 7–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years operating in an HRBP, strategic advisory, or senior ER role within a global organization.
  • Deep Employee Relations & Investigation Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations cases, conducting formal workplace investigations, and navigating multi-jurisdictional labor laws across EMEA, LATAM, or APAC.
  • Global & Remote Experience: Proven track record supporting a fully remote, distributed workforce across multiple countries and international time zones.
  • People Management Experience: Proven experience directly supervising, mentoring, or leading HR team members or operational functions.
  • HRIS & EOR Governance: Functional understanding of core HRIS platforms (ADP Workforce Now preferred) and strategic management of international EOR frameworks.
  • Operating Systems: Experience working with structured business operating systems (such as EOS) and modern performance calibration frameworks.

Preferred

  • Entity Migration Experience: Direct, hands-on experience navigating the transition away from EOR models (e.g., Deel) into established corporate legal entities within a global organization, association, or non-profit environment.

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Employee Relations Mastery: Deep empathy balanced with objective neutrality, sound legal judgment, and investigative rigor.
  • Consultative Influence: Builds immediate trust with senior executives and acts as a grounded, authoritative thought partner.
  • Strategic & Operational Balance: Ability to architect high-level global expansion strategy while maintaining hands-on oversight of department execution.
  • Global & Cultural Fluency: Masterfully navigates cross-cultural nuances, international employment frameworks, and diverse workplace dynamics.

POSTING DISCLOSURES

Compensation: EO reasonably and in good faith expects to pay between $125,000 and $145,000 per year for this position upon hire. Final compensation will depend on skills, experience, internal equity, and work location.

Benefits: EO offers medical, dental, and vision coverage; life/disability coverage; retirement benefits with immediate vesting; paid sick leave; paid time off/vacation; paid holidays; parental leave, if applicable; home office, wellness, and professional development benefits, as applicable.
