Position Overview

Global Life Mental Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our passionate team. This role entails providing essential therapeutic services remotely, with a focus on supporting children and families facing developmental challenges. Our ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese, reflecting our commitment to serving diverse populations effectively.

About the Organization

Global Life Mental Healthcare is a leading provider of youth and family support services dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for children facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. Situated in Joliet, Illinois, we focus on delivering comprehensive, person-centered approaches that empower families and provide lasting results for our clients. Our organization values inclusivity, professional growth, and the overall well-being of both our clients and staff.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in your schedule while ensuring you can make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. You will be working closely with a supportive team through our Community Health Clinic endeavors, ensuring that all therapy services are aligned with best practices and tailored to meet individual family needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group in-home therapy sessions, adapting methods to suit each child’s circumstances and needs.
  • Provide specialized interventions, including anger management and social skills training, aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious actions or aggression.
  • Collaborate with families to enhance decision-making skills, equipping them to manage in-home behavioral challenges effectively.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team to ensure consistent, coordinated care for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings to offer insights and develop tailored recommendations for client care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are navigating the complexities associated with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This includes fostering a supportive environment where caregivers can learn strategies to enhance their children’s emotional and behavioral development.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours a week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with additional weekend flexibility.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are essential.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with children aged 3-20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Background in providing positive behavior support techniques to children and families.
  • Bilingual abilities in Spanish or Portuguese to cater to our diverse patient population.
  • Prior work within a community health setting is advantageous, providing familiarity with different therapy modalities.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 80,000 and 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, employees benefit from:

  • A dynamic remote work environment that fosters collaboration and innovation.
  • Comprehensive group health coverage, including mental health resources.
  • Annual paid time off, providing opportunities for personal and professional rejuvenation.
  • Short and long-term disability protection.
  • A company-sponsored 401K plan to support your long-term financial health.
Career Growth Opportunities

Global Life Mental Healthcare is dedicated to the continual professional development of its employees. Therapists are encouraged to pursue ongoing training and certification opportunities, enhancing both their skills and their contributions to client outcomes. Engage in regular professional development workshops and mentoring programs designed to help you excel in your role.
