MMR Consulting is a global consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, providing Engineering, Project Management, and Validation services to clients across North America and internationally.

We are seeking an HR Specialist to support our growing organization primarily across North America (Canada, USA) with some periodic support to Asia. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to step into a broad, hands-on role supporting employee lifecycle management, HR administration, immigration, employee relations, benefits and compensation, and other key HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR Documentation & Compliance: Draft and maintain employment agreements, amendments, HR letters, policies, templates, and other employee documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Immigration Support: Coordinate U.S. and Canadian immigration matters, working closely with employees, managers, and external immigration counsel to manage documentation, applications, renewals, and key deadlines.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Manage and coordinate the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding experience for employees and contractors, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from hire through departure.
  • HRIS & Employee Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in BambooHR and other HR systems, including training, career development, compliance, and employment documentation.
  • Benefits, Leave & Compensation: Support the administration of employee benefits and leave programs, as well as salary increases, bonuses, and other compensation-related processes.
  • Employee Relations & HR Support: Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on day-to-day HR matters, policies, employee relations, and workplace questions.
  • Recruitment & New Hire Coordination: Support recruitment activities, prepare offer letters, coordinate background checks and pre-employment requirements, and partner with IT and other teams to ensure new hires are fully prepared for their first day.
  • HR Reporting & Insights: Prepare HR reports and data to support management decision-making.
  • HR Communications & Employee Experience: Coordinate HR communications and employee         engagement initiatives.
  • HR Operations & Projects: Provide backup support for payroll and benefits administration and assist with HR projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5 of progressive, hands-on HR experience, with solid knowledge across core HR functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management (HRM) or a related field, or a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment legislation, and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience with work visas / immigration is considered an asset, but not required.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while providing responsive support to employees and managers.
