Experience Level: 10โ€“15+ Years
Job Summary
We are seeking a Principal SAP MII/ME Architect to lead the optimization, upgrade, and expansion of our existing global digital manufacturing landscape. In this role, you will govern the global template and drive technical execution for a large-scale Aerospace & Defense client. You will focus on scaling an existing SAP MII deployment while actively architecting and implementing SAP ME (Manufacturing Execution) solutions on the shop floor (excluding SCADA layers), ensuring strict compliance with industry-specific defense regulations.
Core Responsibilities
  • Global Architecture & Upgrades: Lead the architectural design, roadmap, and execution for upgrading, scaling, and optimizing an existing global SAP MII and SAP ME landscape.
  • SAP ME End-to-End Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy SAP ME solutions to manage shop-floor operations, routing, data collection, non-conformance, and product traceability.
  • ERP-to-Shop-Floor Integration: Architect robust, real-time data flows bridging SAP ERP (ECC/S/4HANA) with SAP ME/MII without direct SCADA layer responsibilities.
  • A&D Compliance Governance: Ensure all SAP ME/MII architectural designs strictly comply with A&D standards, including ITAR, EAR, NIST, and cyber-security frameworks.
  • Template Governance: Maintain and govern the global SAP MII/ME template, ensuring regional rollouts adhere to core standards while minimizing custom code.
  • Technical Leadership: Guide offshore/onshore development teams through complex troubleshooting, code reviews, and performance tuning of data queries and ME configurations.
Technical Qualifications
  • SAP Digital Manufacturing Mastery: 10โ€“15+ years of deep technical experience in SAP MII, SAP ME (Manufacturing Execution), and core SAP ERP integration (PP, MM, QM, PM).
  • Implementation & Upgrade Expertise: Proven track record of managing full-lifecycle SAP ME implementations alongside large-scale, multi-site SAP MII version upgrades.
  • Development & Config Skills: Advanced proficiency in SAP ME Shop Floor Management, SAP ME ERP Integration (SMEI), Java, JavaScript, XSLT, XML, and NetWeaver technology stacks.
  • Data Layer Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of SAP HANA, SQL Server database design, and high-performance query optimization.
  • A&D Infrastructure: Direct experience working within highly secured, federally compliant networks and complex manufacturing environments.
Preferred Qualifications & Soft Skills
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to bridge communication between corporate IT executives and plant-floor operations.
  • Exceptional risk-management skills to ensure zero downtime during global manufacturing upgrades.
  • US Citizenship or specific security clearances may be required due to ITAR/defense contract regulations.
