Job description

About the role:

As a Principal Supplier Performance Engineer, you will lead supplier excellence through handson technical oversight, risk management, and performance ownership, working with suppliers to turn complexity into reliable, compliant delivery.

You will report to the Manager Supplier Performance, NSSS APX and be located at Blackfoot, ID. This is a 4-5 year residency remote position but needs to reside near Blackrock due to frequent visits to the supplier. After the residency has ended you can work remote from anywhere in the US.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess suppliers for complex nucleargrade against Westinghouse technical and quality requirements (NQA1, 10 CFR 50 App. B, 10 CFR 21, ASME Section III).

  • Define and manage Supplier Oversight Plans including witness and holdpoint strategy, and oversight cost estimates.

  • Perform supplier oversight, accomplishing or delegating witness and hold points, documenting results, issuing required actions, and coordinating quality surveillance with Westinghouse Supplier Quality.

  • Guide supplier performance through scorecards and monitoring to ensure full compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.

  • Manage supplier corrective actions, including SCAR, rootcause analysis (8D), nonconformance and dispositions, verification of preventive and corrective actions, and Performance Improvement Plans when needed.

  • Lead and escalate technical issues and major quality events to WBS organization, ensuring partners coordination and providing manufacturing technical expertise

  • Review supplier documentation

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Electrical or related Engineering discipline.

  • Read, interpret, and review complex engineering drawings, and technical documentation for nuclear safety-related components

  • 4+ years of experience in nuclear manufacturing or similarly regulated heavy industries.

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding , electro-mechanical assemblies, NDE, instrumentation integration, and testing

  • Experience leading multiple crossfunctional, international projects.

  • Commitment to personal, industrial, and nuclear safety.

  • Willing to perform oversight as a resident Supplier Performance Engineer at the supplier's workshop based in Idaho, United States

  • Willing to support business trips to other suppliers' facilities up to 20% (typical trips 2-5 days)
