Immediate opportunity for experienced smart home technicians to help us provide superior remote client service. Sight & Sound Systems, Inc. is a premier custom smart home system provider in the Washington, DC area. We are looking for the right candidate to provide remote service for our clients.

Designed specifically for senior field technicians or automation programmers looking to transition away from physical installation, ladder climbs, and daily travel into a 100% desk-based remote support architecture.
This position requires zero physical deployment, heavy lifting, or field infrastructure handling, making it an exceptional fit for qualified technical experts seeking a strictly sedentary, high-level diagnostic role.
Responsibilities
  • View and respond to service requests in proprietary web-based portal
  • Record details of client interactions and service activities in the client account online
  • Communicate with clients via phone and email to troubleshoot service concerns with audio/video, security alarms, and related low-voltage systems
  • Strict adherence to the mandatory response times via RingCentral, phone, and email during working hours.
  • Maintain a positive attitude when working with clients, regardless of their level of experience with technology
  • Work with onsite staff to assist in programming or troubleshooting
  • Find sales opportunities and work with Sales Teams to ensure opportunities are recorded when discovered
  • Work with different departments to ensure processes are completed as needed for return authorizations, warranty repairs, and extended warranty claims

Minimum Requirements
  • Control 4 home automation experience and certification
  • Home technology systems installation and troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of how Audio/Video systems are typically connected
  • Networking experience, especially in relation to Audio/Video systems
  • Wi-Fi network knowledge, in relation to how system can be adjusted or expanded to fit client needs
  • Ability to work with and explain complex systems to clients
  • Working in a team environment with multiple contacts for different systems
  • Ability to document and keep client records and information on service tickets and client files
  • Self-motivated and flexible to support client time frames and team needs
  • Knowledge of interworking of Security Systems; Qolsys, Interlogix
  • Alarm.com experience

Technical Infrastructure: Confirmed hard-wired internet connection meeting the minimum 50Mbps download / 25Mbps upload threshold.
