Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Product Technical Analyst to play a critical role in defining and delivering complex functionality across our enterprise Offender Management System (OMS) platform.

In this role, you will translate business needs into clear, structured, and actionable product requirements that guide development from concept through delivery. You will partner closely with Product Managers, UX, Engineering, QA, and customer-facing teams to ensure that features are well-defined, technically feasible, and aligned with both product strategy and system architecture.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, workflow-driven environments and enjoys bringing clarity, structure, and precision to enterprise software development.

This is a remote based position based anywhere in the contiguous United States.

Responsibilities

Requirements Analysis & Functional Design

  • Analyze business needs, workflows, and operational requirements to support new feature development and enhancements
  • Translate use cases into detailed functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Author new use cases and requirements for market-driven needs, including RFP trends, policy changes, and legislative requirements
  • Define system behavior, workflow logic, and screen-level expectations for product capabilities

Solution Definition & Impact Analysis

  • Assess impacts to existing functionality, identifying dependencies, constraints, and edge cases
  • Determine when functionality should be built as standard product capability versus customer-specific configuration
  • Ensure alignment of new features with the broader OMS architecture and product strategy

Delivery Support & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Provide ongoing clarification of requirements during development and testing to ensure consistent understanding across teams
  • Participate in backlog refinement and working sessions to support solution direction and readiness
  • Validate delivered functionality against defined requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Identify and escalate gaps, risks, and misalignments early in the delivery lifecycle

Documentation & Communication

  • Maintain clear, organized, and up-to-date functional documentation, including requirements, workflows, and decision history
  • Support internal demonstrations and contribute to product documentation and release materials
  • Ensure transparency and traceability of requirement changes throughout the product lifecycle

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to improving product management practices related to requirements definition, documentation standards, and delivery processes
  • Help drive consistency and quality across functional analysis and documentation efforts
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in product analysis, business analysis, software requirements, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience defining requirements or functional workflows for enterprise software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, structured functional requirements, detailed use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Advanced experience defining workflows, rule-driven logic, and system behaviors for complex software features.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple internal teams and manage highly detailed functional information across concurrent initiatives.
  • Experience in corrections or justice system software is preferred but not required.
