Job Title: Logistics Analyst

Job Description

The Logistics Analyst will oversee daily global logistics operations, ensuring accurate and timely shipment execution while driving continuous improvement through data-driven analysis. This role monitors deliveries and bookings, manages import tender processes, tracks shipments, and partners with cross-functional teams to enhance carrier performance, cost efficiency, and service levels. The position offers a long-term contract opportunity with potential for full-time conversion and is fully remote within the Columbus, OH area.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor open deliveries in SAP to ensure they are properly assigned to bookings and proactively resolve any discrepancies.
  • Track and resolve issues related to bookings not confirmed and bookings not tendered, ensuring timely execution of shipments.
  • Execute import tender processes within the Transportation Management System (TMS) to support global logistics operations.
  • Monitor dispatch console activity for drayage within TMS to ensure smooth coordination of container movements.
  • Utilize Project44 (P44) to track shipments and identify resupply delays, customer delays, and potential detention or demurrage risks.
  • Communicate shipment status updates and resupply impacts clearly and promptly to internal stakeholders.
  • Generate and review weekly pending booking reports in TMS to maintain accurate and up-to-date booking information.
  • Partner with TMS users to identify bookings without associated orders and drive cancellation or resolution of non-valid bookings.
  • Track and report on booking confirmation timelines, comparing request dates versus creation dates to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor carrier performance across trade lanes and regions and provide insights to support performance management.
  • Support the development and refinement of logistics key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve visibility and decision-making.
  • Consolidate and compare Reefer and Isotainer pricing quotes to support cost-effective logistics decisions.
  • Support ongoing logistics initiatives and special projects as assigned, contributing analytical insights and operational expertise.
  • Analyze and improve transit time accuracy and ensure SAP master data reflects current and reliable information.
  • Evaluate carrier performance versus Minimum Quantity Commitments (MQC) and recommend adjustments to optimize carrier utilization.
  • Assess booking-to-Post Goods Issue (PGI) timelines and identify process shifts to improve speed and reliability.
  • Identify and evaluate Less-than-Container Load (LCL) versus Full-Container Load (FCL) opportunities to optimize cost and volume efficiency.
  • Develop and refine pre-booking strategies to improve planning, execution, and capacity utilization.
  • Leverage systems such as BDP/Derijke, SAP, and TMS to generate insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to implement recommended process improvements and logistics optimizations.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Logistics Analyst or in a similar logistics-focused role.
  • Strong in logistics, supply chain, transportation, and freight operations.
  • High school diploma (HS Diploma) or equivalent education.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze large datasets and create reports.
  • Proficiency with SAP for managing deliveries, master data, and logistics processes.
  • Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) for booking, tendering, and dispatch activities.
  • Customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to track, analyze, and report on logistics performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve booking and shipment issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • International logistics experience in import and export operations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with systems such as BDP/Derijke and Project44 (P44) for shipment tracking and analytics.
  • Experience working with Reefer and Isotainer equipment and related pricing structures.
  • Experience in analyzing carrier performance across multiple trade lanes and regions.

Work Environment

This role operates on a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a stable and predictable workweek. The position is fully remote within the Columbus, OH area, offering flexibility and the ability to work from home while maintaining regular collaboration with team members. Occasional in-office training may be required to support onboarding or specific initiatives. The work relies heavily on digital tools and systems, including SAP, TMS, BDP/Derijke, Project44 (P44), and advanced Microsoft Excel, in a technology-driven environment focused on data accuracy and operational efficiency. The position is offered as an indefinite contract with paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay, and it has the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business needs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
