What is remote fraud risk management?

Remote Fraud Risk Management refers to the processes and strategies used to detect, prevent, and respond to fraudulent activities in digital environments, especially when employees and operations are distributed or working remotely. This role involves monitoring transactions, analyzing data for suspicious patterns, and implementing security measures to minimize risks. Professionals in this field work closely with IT, compliance, and legal teams to ensure that systems and data remain secure despite the challenges of remote work. Effective remote fraud risk management is critical for protecting organizations from financial losses and reputational damage.

How does a remote fraud risk management professional typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks?

Remote Fraud Risk Management professionals regularly work alongside departments such as IT, compliance, customer service, and legal to identify and address potential fraud threats. Collaboration often involves virtual meetings, sharing data insights, and developing joint strategies to detect suspicious activity. Effective communication and the ability to explain complex risk scenarios to non-specialists are crucial. This cross-functional teamwork ensures that fraud prevention measures are integrated throughout the organization and that responses to incidents are swift and coordinated.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Project Manager based in Netherlands.

This is a remote, full-time opportunity to lead complex, high-impact technology projects across multiple teams, regions and product areas.
You will connect business strategy with technical execution, ensuring strategic initiatives are delivered effectively and with measurable impact.
The role combines project leadership, technical understanding, stakeholder management, governance and operational excellence.
You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Commercial and BI teams, as well as senior leadership and external partners.
You will play a key role in initiatives such as market launches, platform enhancements, certifications and regulatory programmes.
The environment is fast-paced and highly regulated, making strong risk management, communication and decision-making essential.
You will also contribute to project management maturity by mentoring colleagues, improving delivery practices and leveraging technology and AI-enabled tools.

Accountabilities
  • Own the full lifecycle of complex, cross-functional projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Lead strategic initiatives including market entries, platform enhancements, product launches, certifications and other high-impact programmes.
  • Coordinate dependencies, milestones and deliverables across multiple departments and ensure effective execution.
  • Partner with senior leadership and product teams to translate strategic objectives into structured project plans and actionable roadmaps.
  • Support roadmap prioritisation by assessing feasibility, business impact, dependencies and delivery risks.
  • Lead cross-functional teams spanning Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Commercial and BI, facilitating collaboration and resolving conflicts.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level Project Managers and contribute to improving project management standards, processes and ways of working.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, external partners, vendors and regulatory contacts through clear communication and expectation management.
  • Establish and maintain project risk frameworks, lead risk workshops, develop mitigation and contingency plans, and ensure governance requirements are met.
  • Manage change control processes and oversee project decisions, escalating critical risks and issues when appropriate.
  • Provide technical delivery oversight by understanding the software development lifecycle, integrations, technical architecture, and frontend and backend concepts.
  • Clarify requirements, help remove technical blockers and ensure technical milestones remain aligned with overall project objectives.
  • Translate complex technical topics into clear business language for executives and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal and Risk teams on regulatory initiatives, security audits, market certifications and ISO-related projects.
  • Ensure project documentation, procedures and delivery activities meet applicable governance and audit requirements.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting covering progress, KPIs, risks, decisions and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate project status, documentation, workflows and reporting across project management tools and systems.
  • Deliver structured presentations and updates to senior management and steering committees.
  • Identify opportunities to use technology and AI-enabled tools to improve project delivery, collaboration and decision-making.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Project Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Professional project management certification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, Agile Certified Practitioner or an equivalent qualification.
  • 3-5+ years of professional project management experience, including at least 3 years working with software development teams or technical delivery environments.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in iGaming or another highly regulated digital environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodologies and the ability to apply the right approach based on project requirements.
  • Advanced experience using Jira and other project management platforms, including reporting and workflow configuration.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, high-impact projects involving multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, negotiation and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate confidently at both technical and executive levels.
  • Solid expertise in project risk management, governance, change control and issue resolution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting and technical communication skills, including the ability to facilitate technical discussions with engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, technical integrations and modern frontend/backend concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience with regulatory, compliance or market-entry projects is a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to security frameworks such as ISO 27001 is a plus.
  • A proactive, structured and collaborative approach, with the confidence to challenge assumptions, manage ambiguity and drive projects toward successful outcomes.
Benefits
  • Fully remote working arrangement.
  • Full-time position within a technology-focused project management environment.
  • Opportunity to lead high-impact, complex projects with significant business and technical scope.
  • Exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Commercial, Marketing and BI.
  • Opportunity to work on international market launches, platform initiatives, certifications and regulatory programmes.
  • Scope to influence project management standards, governance and delivery practices.
  • Mentoring and leadership opportunities through supporting the development of other Project Managers.
