- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of pre-employment and periodic subsequent medical examination in accordance with DoDM 6055.06 to ensure continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Must possess a valid U.S. Government motor vehicle operators license.
- Must possess a valid state drivers license.
- Must maintain current CPR and AED certification card.
- Work is complex and highly hazardous firefighting and EMS operations.
- Travel for business 5%.
- Must participate in the fitness and wellness program.
- Must work 120 hours bi-weekly.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the eperience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) organizing training activities with other offices/staff, surrounding communities and/or military installations; (2) administering fire prevention, protection, hazardous material response programs; (3) analyzing historical data to ensure there is adequate equipment and personnel available; and (4) assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
Selective Placement Factors: This position requires you to possess and maintain all of the following Department of Defense, International Fire Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board) equivalent certifications:
Fire Officer II
Fire Instructor I
Fire Inspector I
Airport Firefighter
Hazardous Materials Technician
Hazardous Materials Incident Commander
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification issued by the State of Georgia or National Registry. (You MUST submit a copy of your certification.)
You MUST submit a copy of the above certifications certified through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) (AND Georgia or National Registry EMT Certification Card indicating a future expiration). If your application package does not contain proof of having these certificates, your application will be marked as incomplete, and you WILL NOT receive consideration for this position. Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
