POSITION SPECIFICS

TheResidence Life Officeis looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team!

This is a 12-month live-on appointment.

The Live-InAssistant Director of Residence Lifeis a vital part of the team, helping to continue the department's vision and mission. They are responsible tothe Director of StudentAffairsfor supervising upto 2 professional staff members and overseeing the daily activities of buildings housing up to250 students.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Directing, supervising, and administering the student personnel and residence life functions for aresidential community

  • Oversee and facilitate the Code of Conduct process through educating students on residence hall and university policies and serving as a hearing officer for on-campus discipline cases

  • Professional staff supervisionand development

  • Manage crises and serve in on-call rotation

  • Program development and coordination

  • Policy development and implementation

  • Professional and paraprofessional staff selection and training

  • Budget development and oversight

  • Collaborate with various offices to ensure each resident is receivingahigh-qualitylivingexperience

  • Represent residence life in studentaffairs,campus,and/orsystem-widecommittees,as appropriate

  • Serve as primary contact between campus residence life and Central residence life offices

  • Should possess a thorough understanding of the role and purpose of residence hall living as it applies to student development

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Master's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience Required Certifications: None

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $54,060.00 - $78,444.00.
