FINANCIAL SYSTEMS ANALYST

The Financial Systems Analyst is a hands-on technical role supporting the data systems, automation, and reporting that power financial close, global tax compliance, and operational decision-making across SpaceX. You will build and maintain reliable, auditable tools and data pipelines against large financial datasets, with high visibility inside the finance organization and direct impact on the accuracy and speed of period-end close and statutory reporting.

This role sits at the intersection of finance and engineering. You will partner with Accounting, Tax, Engineering, Operations Management, and other stakeholders to turn cross-system data into trusted reporting and to remove manual work from finance processes. The ideal candidate is comfortable writing complex SQL, building data models and automation, investigating data discrepancies, and shipping structured work in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, and maintain data models and financial data products that support revenue close, KPI tracking, management reporting, and related finance workflows
  • Write complex SQL for financial data modeling, incremental processing, cross-system reconciliations, and performance optimization on large datasets
  • Build Python automation to reduce manual work in finance processes, including data movement, report generation, validation, and pipeline orchestration
  • Create reports, tools, and standardized metrics for operational measurement and decision-making using SQL, Excel, and Power BI
  • Own data integrity for key financial datasets; implement data quality tests, business-logic validations, and documentation to ensure accuracy, audit ability, and reproducibility
  • Support monthly, weekly, and ad-hoc close and tax filing cycles by producing timely, accurate reporting data and responding to questions from Accounting and Tax stakeholders
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand current processes, identify system and process gaps, and drive enhancements that improve productivity and reduce cycle time

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, engineering, mathematics, computer science, information systems, data analytics, or another technical discipline
  • 1+ years of professional experience in finance, accounting, data, or a related analytical role (internship experience applies)
  • 1+ years of experience writing SQL and using Excel (internship experience applies)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Hands-on experience with dbt or a similar data transformation framework for building layered, tested, incremental models
  • Skills in OLAP tools, applied business analytics and statistics, forecasting, and general modeling experience of complex non-linear systems
  • Experience in working in fast paced development environments

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed
  • This position is based in Hawthorne, CA, and requires being onsite - remote or hybrid work will not be considered

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range:
Level 1: $85,000 - $100,000
Level 2: $100,000 - $130,000

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees accrue paid sick leave pursuant to Company policy which satisfies or exceeds the accrual, carryover, and use requirements of the law.
