Job description

Construction (Litigation) Associate - Remote (CA License Required)

Direct Counsel is partnering with a nationally recognized AmLaw 200 law firm to identify a Construction Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its Construction Business Unit in Southern California. The attorney can work remotely from anywhere in the US but must be licensed and in good standing with the California bar. Familiarity with construction litigation is preferred but not required

Key Responsibilities
  • Trial preparation and courtroom experience

  • Managing case files with direct responsibility

  • Drafting and arguing motions

  • Taking and defending depositions

  • Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings and briefs

  • Supporting settlement negotiations and dispute resolution efforts

Qualifications
  • Strong advocacy, legal research, writing, and negotiation skills

  • Experience with motion practice and depositions required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to learn new areas of law
  • Strong academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
