A well-established California boutique litigation firm is seeking two Associate Attorneys with personal injury and civil litigation experience. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys who are comfortable independently managing cases and want sophisticated litigation work, meaningful responsibility and strong long-term earning potential.
The firm offers the resources and case complexity of a larger practice while maintaining a collegial, collaborative and genuinely enjoyable boutique environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage a personal injury and civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and substantive legal analysis
  • Take and defend party, witness and expert depositions
  • Participate in mediations and settlement conferences
  • Develop case strategy and provide evaluations and recommendations to clients
  • Prepare cases for trial and participate meaningfully in the trial process
  • Attend court hearings and other litigation-related proceedings
  • Collaborate with partners, associates and professional support staff

Qualifications:
  • Active California Bar license in good standing
  • Approximately 3–8 years of legal experience
  • Personal injury and civil litigation experience
  • Experience independently handling an active caseload
  • Prior participation in mediations
  • Experience taking expert depositions
  • Experience preparing cases for trial
  • Strong legal writing, communication, research and case-management skills
  • Typical annual billable-hour expectation of approximately 1,850–1,950 hours
  • Flexibility to consider a lower billable-hour requirement at a corresponding compensation level
  • Generous bonus structure for hours billed above the applicable threshold
  • Significant long-term compensation and advancement potential
  • A stable employment history and interest in building a long-term career with one firm

Compensation and Billable Hours
