Shermco Industries is seeking an Electrical Construction Superintendent. This position is remote and will require up to 50% travel.

The Position
Shermco Systems Integration is seeking an Electrical Construction Superintendent (ECS), which will be responsible for directing, leading and supervising instrumentation and control (I&C) and construction focused scopes. The ECS will be focused on the continued growth of Shermco's Systems Integrations services, fostering further long-term and effective relationships with Shermco key clients which align with Shermco's long-term growth plans.
The overall success of the above noted focus will be the results of the ECS ensuring all activities (construction, maintenance, outages etc.) are carried out and executed safely, on time and on budget in accordance with Shermco and client standards, specifications and expectations.

Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities:
Safety-Focused:
• Establish/Maintain behaviors that demonstrate Safety as a Personal Core Value.
Construction Management:
• Prepare and produce construction estimates, timelines, budgets, and documentation as guided by project or program manager.
• Independently manage and build construction plan deliverables on smaller projects and contribute to larger projects.
• Provide tracking of large construction plans.
• Identify plan gaps and develop closure plans.
• Ensure the successful completion of assigned project deliverables & milestones in a dynamic/complex environment.
Financial Management:
• Coordinate with Project Management team regarding project financials, estimating, including budgeting, forecasting, and actuals tracking, as well as participating in reviewing actuals versus planned budget during construction life cycle to identify deviations.
Resource Management:
• Manage resources, both internal and external.
• Manage assigned field supervision and craft.
• Manage subcontractors for safety, quality, cost and schedule.
Construction Planning:
• Define tasks and required completion dates.
• Develop solutions that encompass the entire construction scope, and secure all required approvals (internal, external, etc.).
• Develop viable work plans, milestone schedules, and construction cost/benefit estimates.
Scope & Risk Management:
• Manage construction scope change process and coordinate with Project Management team to track.
• Identify risks and issues throughout the construction lifecycle steps and assist in creation of mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Relationship Management:
• Communicate construction status to all levels of the organization.
• Establish effective, collaborative working relationships to maximize construction efficiency, responsiveness and resource allocation.
• Support RFP processes in new opportunities.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• 10+ years experience in heavy industrial Construction Management required; high-tech experience and renewables experience preferred.
• Journeyman Electrical license required. Master Electrical license preferred.
• Expert level knowledge of NEC and NFPA-70
• Intimate knowledge of industrial electrical installation practices, including rigid, EMT, IMT and plastibond conduits, cable tray, copper & fiber optic cables, instrumentation, PLC and control panels.
• Must be able to read, understand and interpret project specifications, P&ID's, electrical layout & wiring drawings, conduit & cable schedules, and other project documents.
• Ability to work safely, and an eagerness to contribute to a safety-focused team.
• Formal Construction Management training preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills; excellent written/verbal communications skills required; Multi-lingual (English/Spanish) capability a plus.
• Understanding of core construction processes with specific hands-on expertise in at least one discipline
• Knowledge of construction planning process and methodology
• Ability to adapt to changes quickly and work within a diverse, cross-functional team environment
• Vendor/contract management experience preferred
• Must be flexible and willing to work out-of-town with regular overnight travel
Other Requirements:
• Strong preference for individuals who are able and willing to demonstrate their personal commitment to Safety.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Should be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam when required
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

• Must have a valid driver's license and currently have (and be able to maintain) a good driving record.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer-sponsored visa (work permit).
