Job description

Property Claims Adjuster

To help our insureds recover after a property loss of varied size and complexity. To deliver an exceptional customer and agent experience to aid in the retention of business while consistently adhering to established claims handling guidelines and best practices. To effectively investigate, evaluate, and resolve property claims for our valued customers within the company's contractual and legal obligations. To ensure proactive and timely service, while providing an appropriate and equitable resolution to insureds and the company.

Deliver exceptional customer service to our insured and agents. Investigate, evaluate, manage, and resolve claims under minimal supervision in compliance with best practices, claim handling guidelines, and state regulations.

Review and interpret policy and contract language to determine coverage for assigned losses.

Triage, process, and resolve property claims utilizing digital tools, virtual adjusting programs, Direct Repair Programs, and independent appraisal firms.

Assist property adjusters by providing virtual and digital backup coverage due to vacations, medical leave, or vacant territories to positively affect the customer experience while controlling loss adjusting expenses.

Assist in handling of catastrophe-related property claims and provide oversight, management, and direction of independent adjuster claim files as needed due to increased storm volumes.

Bachelor's degree required with focus on construction trades, agriculture, business administration or insurance preferred, or equivalent experience may be considered.

Minimum three to five years of multi-line or property claims experience required.

Experience with virtual property loss estimating preferred.

Experience with P/C insurance contracts and insurance regulations preferred.

Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Designations in INS, AIC, or similar professional insurance designation preferred.

Designation in CPCU preferred.

Certifications for Haag, IICRC-WRT, Xactimate Level I and II required or obtained within one year of hiring.

Note This position is remote work from home - in Michigan only. Candidate must live in Michigan.
