Position Overview

Congruent Psychiatric Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team in Tempe, Arizona. Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Congruent Psychiatric Services, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing therapy sessions to individuals, couples, and families, addressing a variety of mental health concerns.
  • Diagnosing and documenting clients' mental health conditions accurately.
  • Creating customized treatment plans and interventions tailored to each client's unique needs.
  • Leading therapeutic sessions that may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and systemic therapy.
  • Facilitating communication and conflict resolution among family members in sessions.
  • Providing referrals to additional specialists when further support is necessary.
  • Educating clients about coping strategies and resources to maintain their well-being outside of therapy.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will encompass a wide range of client issues, including, but not limited to:

  • Challenges with alcohol abuse and recovery.
  • Addressing effects of physical and psychological abuse.
  • Supporting clients dealing with grief and loss.
  • Helping families navigate conflicts and communication breakdowns.
  • Assisting blended families with adjustment during remarriage and family integration.
  • Providing support during separation and divorce processes, including adjustment and coping strategies.
  • Addressing job-related stress and its impact on familial relationships.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A current and valid license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Arizona.
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Strong clinical skills with a proven track record in providing therapy across diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport quickly with clients.
Preferred Experience

While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, the following experience is preferred:

  • Experience working in a telehealth setting or willingness to adapt to remote therapy practices.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapy techniques and best practices in marriage and family therapy.
