Remote Marketing Writer information

What is a remote marketing writer?

A Remote Marketing Writer is a professional who creates written content for marketing purposes while working from a location outside of a traditional office setting. Their tasks often include writing blog posts, email campaigns, social media content, product descriptions, and other materials aimed at promoting a company’s products or services. They collaborate with marketing teams virtually, conduct research, and tailor their writing style to fit different audiences and platforms. Remote Marketing Writers rely on strong communication and time-management skills to meet deadlines and maintain productivity without in-person supervision.

How does a remote marketing writer typically collaborate with other team members while working off-site?

Remote Marketing Writers frequently use digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Trello, or Asana to communicate with team members, manage projects, and track deadlines. Regular video meetings are scheduled to align on campaign goals and receive feedback from marketing managers, designers, and other stakeholders. Clear communication and proactive updates are essential for ensuring that content aligns with brand messaging and project timelines. Most remote teams foster a supportive culture through virtual brainstorming sessions and shared documents, making collaboration seamless despite physical distance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote marketing writer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Marketing Writer, you need excellent writing, editing, and content strategy skills, often supported by a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools like SEMrush or Ahrefs, and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics is typically required. Strong self-motivation, time management, and collaboration skills help you stand out in a remote environment. These abilities are crucial for producing high-quality, engaging content that drives brand awareness and supports marketing goals while working independently.

Job description

Growth Marketing Coordinator
Vivant Corp | Remote | Reports to Founder/CEOWho We Are
Vivant eliminates internet, phone, and WiFi outages for multi-location businesses - guaranteed. We're scaling from $7M to $20M MRR and building a lean, high-output marketing function. You'll be one of two marketing hires working directly with the founder. The Role
A doer (website updates, blog writing, SEO, social media posts, lead magnets and nurture sequences). At your core you are a strong content writer
This is an execution role. If you're the type of person who needs to be told exactly what to do every day, this isn't for you. If you're the type who looks at a plan and immediately starts to execute it - welcome home. What You'll Execute Day-to-Day
  • Email campaigns and sequences - build, schedule, and monitor in Go High Level
  • Content calendar - own the publishing calendar across LinkedIn, email, and the website
  • Landing pages and lead magnets - build and test, track conversion rates
  • Social media - LinkedIn-first, consistent posting tied to ICP targeting
  • Campaign performance tracking - weekly/ monthly KPI dashboard updated without being asked
  • Event coordination - trade shows, conferences, webinars - logistics, materials, follow-up sequences
  • Customer case studies - identify candidates, coordinate interviews, produce written and video assets
  • Website updates - content updates, landing page creation, basic SEO hygiene
  • Graphic design - Canva or equivalent, for social, ads, one-pagers, and email assets
The Non-Negotiables
  • You've executed B2B marketing campaigns - not just assisted, executed - with metrics to show for it
  • Go High Level, HubSpot, or equivalent CRM - you've built automations and sequences, not just sent blasts
  • Copywriting is a genuine strength - you can write a cold email subject line and a LinkedIn post that actually gets engagement
  • You're organized without being told to be - you manage your own deadlines
  • You're comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and you adapt without losing output quality
  • Basic graphic design - you don't need to be a designer, but you can produce clean, on-brand materials
What Success Looks Like
  • 60 days: All active campaigns documented, CRM cleaned up, content calendar live
  • 90 days: Consistent content publishing cadence, email sequences running, weekly KPI report delivered to CEO every Monday
  • 6 months: Measurable improvement in email open/click rates, social engagement trending up, at least 3 customer case studies published
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary + performance bonus
  • Remote-first, full-time
  • Direct mentorship from a metrics-driven founder and a senior demand gen lead
  • Real ownership - your work is visible and measured, not buried in a large team
  • Clear path to growth as the marketing function scales
Who Should NOT Apply
  • Social media managers who haven't worked in a B2B environment
  • You need creative direction for every piece of content
  • You can't show specific metrics from campaigns you've run
