Job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, relationship-driven Client Manager with a true outbound “hunter” mentality to spearhead our expansion across the United States, particularly along the East Coast. This role is focused on proactive acquisition of new K–12 schools, universities, MBA programs, and educational partners.

You will not simply manage existing accounts; you will be a primary engine of Real Asia’s growth. From cold outreach and conference networking to relationship cultivation and long-term partnership development, you will help schools bring life-changing educational experiences to students throughout Asia.

This is a fully remote, ideally U.S.-based role, requiring a high degree of independence, strategic communication, emotional intelligence, and consultative sales ability. Because our clients operate on U.S. academic calendars and require close relationship management and understand the U.S. education sales cycles.

Key Responsibilities

- New Business Development & Outbound Prospecting

Drive aggressive new client acquisition through proactive outreach to schools, districts, universities, and educational organizations across assigned territories.

Identify and cultivate relationships with:

  • Department Heads and Directors
  • World Language Educators
  • Principals & Administrators
  • Study Abroad & Experiential Learning Offices
  • MBA and Faculty-Led Program Coordinators

This role is ideal for someone energized by the “thrill of the hunt”; cold calling, strategic networking, conference relationship-building, outbound prospecting, and creating opportunities through persistence and initiative.

- Educational Partnership Development

Build and close new educational travel partnerships with K–12 schools and universities across the United States.

Navigate complex institutional decision-making processes including:

  • Administrative approvals
  • Parent presentations
  • Risk management discussions
  • Budget conversations
  • School board and leadership buy-in

The ideal candidate is comfortable guiding schools through long consultative sales cycles while building trust and credibility at every stage.

- Consultative Educational Sales

Lead schools through a highly consultative sales process centered around educational value, student outcomes, safety, and cultural immersion.

Develop customized program proposals and experiential learning itineraries tailored to each institution’s goals, curriculum, budget, and community needs.

The ideal candidate understands how to position educational travel not simply as tourism, but as a meaningful extension of student learning, leadership development, and global competency education.

- Territory Ownership & Strategic Growth

Develop and execute a territory growth strategy focused on high-potential schools, educational networks, and regional conference ecosystems.

Build long-term institutional partnerships through consistent relationship management, thoughtful follow-up, and strong client stewardship.

Conference & Field Engagement

Represent Real Asia at educational conferences, networking events, and school visits throughout the year.

Travel periodically to strengthen relationships, support programs, and expand Real Asia’s presence within the independent schools and global education communities.

- CRM & Operational Excellence

Maintain accurate CRM documentation, pipeline visibility, and client communication records.

Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, program management, and on-the-ground teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales to program execution.

Experience & Skills Requirements

- Asia Experience (Required)

Candidates must have meaningful lived, studied, or professional experience in East Asia. We are looking for individuals who can speak authentically about cross-cultural learning, international education, and the realities of navigating Asia with students and educators. Experience and/or exposure in multiple Asian countries and/or regions are highly desirable.

- Language Background (Required)

Professional or conversational proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, or Korean strongly preferred.

- The Hunter Mindset

You are proactive, resilient, competitive, and relationship oriented. You enjoy initiating conversations, creating opportunities from scratch, overcoming rejection, and building momentum through persistence and follow-through.

- Passion for Global Education

You believe international education has the power to shape empathy, perspective, adaptability, leadership, and student growth. You are excited by the intersection of education, culture, travel, and experiential learning.

- Strong Relationship Builder

You can quickly establish trust with educators, administrators, and families while communicating complex programs with clarity, professionalism, and warmth.

- Independent & Self-Directed

You thrive in a remote environment, manage your time effectively, and take ownership of your outreach strategy, sales pipeline, and goals.

- Organized & Tech-Forward

Experience using CRM systems, virtual presentation tools, and remote communication platforms preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • 1–5 years in outbound sales, client management, business development, admissions, educational travel, recruitment, or partnership development
  • Experience working with K–12 schools, universities, study abroad, experiential education, or international programs strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with independent schools, public school systems, global education programs, or educational conferences is a major plus
  • Prior international travel or professional experience in Asia highly preferred

Compensation Structure (Contractor-Based)

  • Monthly retainer based on experience and location
  • Sales commissions based on gross profit of managed accounts
  • Starting with a base pay of USD45,000 annually. Past strong performers earned up to USD100,000 in the second year through combined retainer and commissions
  • Additional performance-based bonus potential

This is a contractor role, not an employment position. Contractor is responsible for personal tax filings, insurance, and statutory obligations.

Work Location & Travel

  • Fully remote
  • U.S.-based candidates preferred
  • Domestic and/or Asia travel required 1-2 times per year as programs scale
  • Authorized to work as an independent contractor in your country of residence

Why Join Real Asia

  • High autonomy and entrepreneurial environment
  • Long-term growth runway as the company scales
  • Meaningful commission upside
  • Flexible work structure
  • International team exposure

Application Questions
