Our One Water Team and Projects
Our team of 180 dedicated water professionals has earned multiple ACEC Engineering Excellence and ASCE Project Awards. We partner with private, state, and local government clients to enhance drinking water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring reliable and sustainable systems for communities. As part of our team, you'll help plan, design, and administer the construction of new and upgraded conveyance systems, treatment plants, and pump stations. You'll support clients with capital improvement planning, hydraulic modeling, and asset management programs. Our work also includes Long-Term CSO Control Plans, Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plans, Integrated Water Resource Management Plans, and Sewer System Evaluation Studies-driving smarter, more resilient water solutions.
Responsibilities, Requirements, and Total Rewards
What You'll Be Doing
As a valuable part of our Water and Wastewater Team, a Project Engineer 1 will leverage their engineering expertise to support the planning, design, and construction of wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the Northeast with responsibilities such as:
  • Assist with the development of drawings, specifications, opinions of cost, and reports, from conceptual planning to construction
  • Engage in technical discussions about design approaches, budget considerations, and schedule, promoting achievement of client goals on both design-bid-build and design-build projects
  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary project teams to develop high-quality deliverables that align with client needs and regulatory requirements
  • Delegate tasks effectively, mentoring staff engineers, and managing priorities to meet project milestones
  • Participate in field work, including site visits, data collection and some construction observation
  • Uphold Tighe & Bond's commitment to excellence by delivering innovative and sustainable wastewater solutions

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • At least five years of consulting engineering experience with increasing responsibility in the wastewater industry
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within six months
  • Enthusiasm for learning, self-motivation, and strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Revit on water or wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Experience leading project teams and mentoring junior engineers
