Grants & Contracts Specialist

Pay Type: Salary

Position Salary Minimum: $50,000

Position Salary Maximum: $53,000

Salary will be commensurate with the level of the position, education, and experience.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Benefit Eligible: Yes

Key Responsibilities

Post-Award & Compliance

  • Award Setup: Review grant agreements and contracts for "red flag" clauses; set up financial tracking in the accounting system.
  • Monitoring: Track expenditures to ensure funds are spent according to the approved budget and timeline.
  • Sub-award Management: Oversee any pass-through funding to partners, ensuring they are also in compliance.

Reporting & Closeout

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit periodic financial reports to funders.
  • Audit Readiness: Maintain impeccable records for annual audits or donor-specific site visits.
  • Closeout: Reconcile final accounts and ensure all deliverables have been met before the grant period ends.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or related field AND 2+ years of experience in grant or contract administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree AND Non-Profit or Higher Education experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Excel and specialized systems like Grants.gov, eRA Commons, or ERP software (NetSuite, Workday, etc.).
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain complex federal regulations to non-finance staff.
