Transcendent Healing Psychology Practice is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Geriatric Mental Health Counselor to join our expanding telehealth team. This full-time position offers the flexibility of remote work while allowing you to play a crucial role in addressing the mental health needs of the elderly population. Our remote work setting fosters a flexible schedule designed to accommodate the needs of our patients. The typical workweek runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as necessary to accommodate specific patient needs. This telehealth model allows you to conduct therapy sessions from your comfortable home office while ensuring that you are part of a supportive, engaged, and collaborative team dedicated to geriatric mental health.

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the unique requirements of older adults, taking cognitive and physical changes into account.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the multifaceted challenges of geriatric patients, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Provide various therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy sessions, specifically focused on geriatric psychiatric conditions.
• Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care and improve patient outcomes.
• Offer immediate crisis intervention and support to elderly patients experiencing mental health emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, the range of treatment options available, and community resources for support.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation that aligns with legal and ethical standards, facilitated by proficient use of electronic health record systems.
• Engage actively in team meetings, case discussions, and continuing professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Stay updated on current research and best practices within geriatric psychiatry to enhance the care provided to patients.

Your primary focus will be on elderly individuals struggling with an array of psychiatric conditions. Many of these patients may face compounded challenges stemming from cognitive decline, chronic illness, and social isolation. By employing tailored therapeutic strategies that respect their experiences, you will help them navigate their unique mental health journeys, thereby working to improve their overall well-being and quality of life.

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
• A minimum of two (2) years of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting is preferred, particularly with geriatric populations.
• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
• Experience in delivering individual and family therapy to older adults, demonstrating strong interpersonal abilities and a patient-centered approach.
• Excellent communication skills that enable effective rapport building with elderly patients and their families.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health record systems and other relevant computer applications.
• A commitment to collaborative work within a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Experience in a telehealth setting is advantageous.
• Specialized training or additional certifications in geriatric mental health or related fields.

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 115,000 to 130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
