Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient therapy services for individuals, couples, and families seeking mental health support.
• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to understand client dynamics, and develop tailored treatment plans to meet their specific needs.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques rooted in family systems theory to enhance communication, resolve conflicts, and address emotional distress.
• Facilitate sessions that may involve crisis intervention, ensuring that clients and their families feel safe and supported during moments of acute stress.
• Maintain detailed and confidential client records, progress notes, and treatment plans in accordance with legal requirements and ethical guidelines.
• Empower clients through psychoeducation on relationship skills, emotional regulation, and effective coping strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including fellow therapists and medical professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with the latest research and techniques in the field of marriage and family therapy.

The primary clients you will serve include individuals and families facing a variety of challenges such as relationship issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustments to life transitions. Your role is crucial in guiding them through personal struggles with an empathetic and solutions-focused approach, ultimately helping them achieve healthier relationships and emotional resilience.

Qualifications

• Active licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Maryland.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related mental health field is required.
• At least one year of professional experience as a licensed therapist is necessary, showcasing a fundamental understanding of therapy practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the capability to build rapport and trust with clients, facilitating therapeutic progress.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
