Job description

Your role
As a Maintenance Technician, your mission is to be responsible for the repair, preventative maintenance, and factory maintenance within the site facilities. Responsibilities include all aspects related to mechanical operations. Support prompt repair, preventative maintenance schedules, housekeeping and organizational standards. You will update the respective departments regarding the status of all operating equipment. Work with vendors, riggers, and millwrights on proper installation of equipment. You will report to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
Current openings available: 3rd Shift (10pm - 6:30am).
You will
  • Safety First is "Safety Always." Safe Work Practices and Procedures are priority one.
  • You will perform the Preventative Maintenance program for equipment, per guidelines.
  • Servicing equipment that includes cold headers (forging), heat treatment furnaces, plating lines, high speed sorting equipment, collation, conveyors and motors.
  • Anticipate and resolve problems promptly.
  • You will follow approved Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Follow approved reduction of stored energy guidelines.
  • You will provide input and help manage continuous improvement projects.
  • Electrically and mechanically troubleshoot issues as they occur.
  • Operate a fork-truck, man-lift, shop fabricating equipment, power hand tools, etc.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.
To succeed, you will need

  • 3 years minimum industrial/manufacturing environment experience
  • Industry understanding in pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and servo motors.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with proactive maintenance systems (CMMS).
  • Understand basic electrical prints.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical control circuits.
  • Experience with the installation of new or upgrading existing systems and equipment.
  • Experience following electrical standards.
  • Intermediate computer skills to include (Microsoft Office preferred).
  • Basic welding/fabrication skills.
  • Good mechanical reasoning.

EDUCATION OR QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Related certifications
  • Electrical certification, preferred.
  • Experience training junior apprentice(s) on the proper methods of equipment repair and maintenance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (AS APPLICABLE):
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds periodically
  • Must be able to climb ladders/stairs and work in high places
