We are seeking an Epic Willow Inpatient Analyst to serve as a key member of Optum Enterprise Epic Services. In this role, you will leverage your Epic Willow expertise to design, build, optimize, and support pharmacy workflows for leading healthcare organizations across the country. You will partner with clinicians, pharmacy leaders, operational stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver innovative solutions that improve patient care, medication management, and operational performance.
Unlike a traditional hospital-based analyst role, this position offers the opportunity to support multiple client environments, collaborate with Epic experts across Optum's Enterprise Epic Services organization, and contribute to large-scale strategic initiatives that impact healthcare delivery nationwide.
This is an opportunity to work alongside some of the industry's top Epic professionals while helping healthcare organizations maximize the value of their Epic investments and drive meaningful transformation across the care continuum.


You'llenjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.


Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Epic Willow Inpatient application design, build, implementation, optimization, and support activities
  • Partner with customers, clinicians, pharmacy leaders, and operational stakeholders to evaluate workflows and develop scalable Epic solutions
  • Lead design, configuration, testing, and deployment activities for Willow-related enhancements, upgrades, and optimization initiatives
  • Provide consultative guidance and workflow recommendations to improve medication management, operational efficiency, and user experience
  • Analyze business and clinical requirements and translate them into system configuration and functional specifications
  • Facilitate design sessions, requirements gathering meetings, workflow reviews, and solution validation activities
  • Lead small to medium complexity projects and workstreams through all phases of the system development lifecycle
  • Perform system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution activities
  • Participate in upgrade planning, new functionality evaluations, and release management activities
  • Develop and maintain application documentation, design specifications, testing plans, and change control documentation
  • Monitor application performance and proactively identify opportunities for system optimization and process improvement
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between operational goals, clinical workflows, and technical solutions
  • Support end-user adoption through knowledge sharing, workflow education, and collaboration with training teams
  • Provide production support, incident management, and on-call support as required
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and business partners while serving as a trusted advisor

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Epic Willow Inpatient Certification
  • 3 years of healthcare industry experience
  • 3 years of Epic Willow build, configuration, and support experience
  • Experience participating in the design, build, testing, implementation, and optimization of Epic solutions
  • Experience collaborating with operational and clinical stakeholders to improve workflows and system performance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician background
  • Active Epic Beacon Certification
  • Experience supporting oncology, infusion center, or specialty pharmacy workflows
  • Experience with Epic implementation, upgrade, or large-scale optimization initiatives
  • Demonstrated leadership experience leading projects, workstreams, or cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in a consulting environment or supporting multiple healthcare organizations
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
