What is remote Epic Go Live Support?

Remote Epic Go Live Support refers to providing virtual assistance to healthcare organizations during the rollout of Epic electronic health record (EHR) systems. Professionals in this role help clinical and administrative staff navigate the new software, troubleshoot issues, and answer questions in real-time, all from a remote location. This type of support ensures a smoother transition during the critical go-live phase, minimizing disruptions to patient care and daily operations. Remote support is often delivered via phone, chat, or video conferencing, and can be more cost-effective and flexible compared to on-site support.

What skills and qualifications are needed for remote Epic Go Live Support?

Success as a Remote Epic Go Live Support specialist requires in-depth knowledge of Epic EHR systems, experience in healthcare IT, and often certification such as Epic Credentialed Trainer or Epic Certified Analyst. Familiarity with remote support tools, ticketing systems, and strong technical troubleshooting skills are essential. Outstanding communication, patience, and problem-solving abilities help guide end users and resolve issues efficiently from a distance. These skills ensure a smooth go-live process, minimize disruptions for healthcare providers, and support the effective adoption of new technology.

What are common challenges faced by remote Epic Go Live Support professionals during a project launch?

Remote Epic Go Live Support professionals often encounter challenges such as quickly adapting to different healthcare organizations’ workflows, troubleshooting unexpected technical issues in real-time, and ensuring clear communication with onsite staff. Since support is provided remotely, building trust and rapport with end-users can require extra effort, and efficiently resolving issues without physical presence demands strong problem-solving skills. Additionally, professionals must be prepared to manage high volumes of support requests during peak go-live periods, which can be fast-paced and require excellent time management.

  • Support data migration, validation, and conversion activities during system cutovers and production transitions.
  • Develop and coordinate documentation, testing procedures, and end-user training for master data management processes.
  • Recommend and implement S/4HANA innovations and process improvements related to master data across the production value stream.
  • Utilize Jira and SAP Focused Build to manage requirements, design deliverables, and project workflows.

Basic Qualifications
• Significant experience with SAP S/4HANA in one or more of the following areas: Material Management (MM), Product Lifecycle Management System Integration (PLMSI), Master Data Governance (MDG), or Production Engineering and Operations (PEO)
• Experience designing and supporting integrated master data processes across manufacturing and production environments
• Experience authoring functional specifications based on business requirements and translating them into technical design deliverables
• Experience collaborating with ABAP developers to design, standardize, and implement customized functional solutions
• Proven ability to analyze large data sets, identify data quality issues, and facilitate data-driven decisions
• Experience defining or supporting governance structures and validation rules for master data objects
• Ability to apply functional SAP knowledge to improve operational efficiency and standardization across production operations
• Experience supporting full system lifecycle activities, including gap analysis, requirements gathering, blueprinting, development, testing, and post go-live support
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills involving the integration of multiple IT systems
• Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to converse fluently between technical and functional audiences
• U.S. Citizenship required, as this role supports systems related to national defense
Desired Skills
• Hands-on configuration and support experience with SAP S/4HANA modules:
  • Material Management (MM)
  • Product Lifecycle Management System Integration (PLMSI)
  • Master Data Governance (MDG)
  • Production Engineering and Operations (PEO)

• Strong understanding of master data objects (materials, bills of material, routings, work centers, production versions) and their integration across manufacturing systems
• Experience designing and maintaining governance and validation rules for manufacturing master data
• Familiarity with data migration, conversion tools, and integration testing processes
• Experience using Jira and SAP Focused Build to manage requirements, test cases, and project workflows
• Ability to independently drive requirements gathering, solution design, and cross-functional alignment across business and technical teams
• Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery models in a large-scale ERP environment
