Job description

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Senior Electronic Health Record System Analyst - Epic Prelude/Referrals to support the Clinical Access Revenue System department. This department focuses on optimizing patient access, referrals, and revenue cycle workflows supported by Epic systems, ensuring seamless coordination between clinical, administrative, and financial operations. The Senior Electronic Health Record System Analyst - Epic Prelude/Referrals plays a critical role in advancing system implementation, maintenance, and optimization efforts across UT MD Anderson.

The Senior Electronic Health Record System Analyst - Epic Prelude/Referrals collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance, improve workflows, and support operational excellence across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with advanced expertise in healthcare information technology and Epic systems, particularly within referrals and access workflows.

Preferred candidates will have hands-on experience as a referrals analyst, strong project management capabilities, knowledge of financial clearance workflow design, and familiarity with AI workflow tools, along with relevant Epic certifications such as Prelude, Cadence, or Referrals. Minimum $106,500 - Midpoint $133,000 - Maximum $159,500 Work Location: 100% remote within Texas Why Us. Responsibilities System Implementation & Optimization Lead and communicate implementation, high-risk maintenance, and optimization efforts of the Epic EHR system Provide technical support and operational workflow expertise for system deployment and enhancement Collect and analyze system performance data to identify opportunities for improvements and enhancements Project & Workflow Management Manage and prioritize requested system modifications across multiple stakeholders Lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously within integrated teams Translate business needs into technical solutions and system configurations Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Establish and maintain strong liaison relationships with customers and OneIS Partner with clinical, operational, and technical teams to address complex system challenges Support resolution of complex problems, including SI events Analysis & System Design Utilize operational knowledge to design and develop system improvements Participate in workflow analysis and redesign for referrals, access, and financial processes Evaluate and recommend enhancements to support efficient and compliant workflows Leadership & Mentorship Lead project teams to achieve defined objectives and timelines Mentor and support staff in system knowledge and best practices Promote effective communication and collaboration across team members EDUCATION Required: Bachelor's Degree WORK EXPERIENCE Required: 5 years Relevant healthcare information technology experience.

May substitute required education with years of related experience on a one to one basis. May substitute up to two years of clinical experience or relevant business experience for relevant healthcare information technology experience. Preferred: Experience as a referrals analyst, project management, access, financial clearance workflow design, experience with AI workflow tools.

Preferred Certifications: Prelude, Cadence, Referrals badge.
