Why We Need You:

PEMCO has an opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our community.  This position is responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of business applications using Microsoft .NET technologies and React. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with 1-2 years of hands-on experience who is ready to contribute to full-stack feature delivery in a collaborative, quality-focused engineering environment.

The Software Engineer will work across front-end, back-end, and data layers, participate in technical discussions, and apply established development standards under the guidance of senior team members.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Develop and maintain backend services using C# and ASP.NET Core.

  • Build responsive front-end components using React and JavaScript.

  • Implement and consume RESTful APIs to support system integration.

  • Write maintainable, well-structured code using object-oriented programming principles.

  • Create and troubleshoot SQL queries, joins, views, and stored procedures in support of application features.

  • Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and sprint ceremonies.

  • Collaborate with QA, UX, Product, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable, user-focused solutions.

  • Assist with release and deployment activities in alignment with established team processes.

  • Investigate and resolve application issues, escalating complex items as appropriate.

  • Contribute to technical documentation and team knowledge sharing.

  • Use GitHub Copilot in alignment with PEMCO development and security standards.

  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct.

What You'll Bring:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Information Technology or related technical program) is required

  • 1-2 years of software development experience.

  • 1-2 years' experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI powered coding assistants.

  • Working knowledge of C#, .NET, and object-oriented programming concepts.

  • Exposure to ASP.NET Core MVC or .NET Web API development.

  • Experience developing front-end features using React and JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with REST APIs and client-server architecture.

  • Foundational SQL skills, including writing and debugging queries.

  • Hands on experience using GitHub for version control and collaborative workflows

  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment

  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook is required

  • Job specific: Knowledge of OOP, design fundamentals, and clean coding principles.

Compensation:

The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual's qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

  • Greater Seattle area target pay range: $ 116,338 - $ 142,190.  The full pay range is $ 96,948 - $161,580.

  • Outside Greater Seattle area target pay range: $ 102,670 - $ 125,486.  The full pay range is $ 85,559 - $ 142,598.

Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle.

Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.

Benefits:

Regular part-time PEMCO employees working at least 24 hours per week and regular full-time PEMCO employees are eligible to elect coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans for themselves and their eligible family members with generous employer premium cost shares. In addition, as a benefits-eligible employee, you are:

  • Covered by employer-paid basic life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance policies as well as long- and short-term disability benefit coverages.
  • Eligible to participate in PEMCO's 401(k) plan, which includes a generous employer match (2 for 1 on the first 6% employee pre-tax and/or Roth deferral, up to federal maximums). 

PEMCO provides a variety of time off programs including:

  • Vacation and eight (8) paid holidays. 
  • Granted four (4) floating holidays and up to ten (10) days of sick leave immediately upon hire (pro-rated based on hire date and full-time/part-time status).
  • In addition, PEMCO provides paid time off for bereavement, jury duty, and employee volunteering in the community.
