Art Curriculum Developer - Kidcreate Studio
Kidcreate Studio is seeking a creative, operationally-minded Curriculum Developer to lead the development and evolution of our progressive art education platform for children ages 6-12.
This role owns the design, structure, implementation, and continuous improvement of Kidcreate's curriculum across multiple age groups. The ideal candidate is equal parts art educator, curriculum architect, creative systems thinker, and teacher coach.
You'll help transform Kidcreate from a collection of engaging art classes into a deeply intentional, progression-based learning system that scales across a national franchise platform - working cross-functionally with operations, training, and marketing to ensure curriculum is engaging for students, executable for instructors, consistent across locations, and designed to drive long-term retention.
Primary Responsibilities
Curriculum Strategy & Architecture
  • Lead development of a progressive, Skill based, year-round curriculum system for Art 2 (ages 6-8) and Art 3 (ages 9-12), spanning two 21-week school semesters and one 10-week summer semester
  • Build developmental progression models balancing technical skill, creativity, confidence, and social engagement
  • Establish learning objectives, milestones, and measurable outcomes for each term and age group
  • Develop a long-term roadmap for future curriculum expansion and advanced pathways

Lesson & Project Development
  • Create and oversee weekly lesson plans, project roadmaps, classroom activities, teacher guides, and skill-building exercises
  • Ensure projects are age-appropriate, visually exciting, operationally repeatable, and achievable within class time
  • Design for varying student skill levels and integrate cultural, historical, and contemporary art references throughout

Teacher Enablement & Instructional Systems
  • Build comprehensive teacher-facing resources: prep checklists, classroom and materials management systems, visual references, demonstration guides, and instructional scripting
  • Develop instructor onboarding and training systems
  • Partner with operations and training teams to improve classroom execution and instructional quality

Testing, Iteration & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead curriculum beta testing beginning with Art 1 in June 2026
  • Gather and evaluate student engagement data, parent feedback, instructor feedback, and operational insights
  • Continuously refine based on studio performance and learning outcomes
  • Ensure full go-to-market readiness by Back-to-School season (July/August 2026)

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with the in-house curriculum team, franchise support, studio operations, marketing, creative/design teams, and leadership
  • Help articulate Kidcreate's educational philosophy and progression model to support marketing and franchise development
  • Contribute to positioning Kidcreate as a leader in premium, in-person creative enrichment for children

Qualifications
Required
  • 10+ years in curriculum development, art education, or creative youth programming in elementary or middle school environments
  • Proven experience designing structured educational programs for children ages 6-12
  • Strong understanding of learning progression, classroom management, creative skill development, and student engagement
  • Exceptional written and visual communication skills
  • Ability to build systems and documentation with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment

Preferred
  • Experience in multi-location education, supplemental education, or youth enrichment businesses
  • Background creating teacher training systems, video instructional content, or creative education frameworks
  • Fine arts and instructional design background
  • Familiarity with project management and content management systems

Success Metrics
Curriculum Development
  • On-time delivery of semester curriculum
  • Quality and scalability of curriculum systems
  • Launch readiness by August/September 2026

Student Engagement
  • Retention and re-enrollment trends
  • Parent satisfaction and student participation levels

Operational Effectiveness
  • Instructor ease-of-use ratings
  • Reduction in cross-location inconsistency
  • Teacher training adoption rates

Innovation & Brand Impact
  • Strength of Kidcreate's differentiated educational positioning
  • Expansion readiness for future programs
  • Contribution to franchise growth and brand value
